Khloe Kardashian's Ex Tristan Thompson Is 'Very Close' With THIS Member of Donald Trump's Family — Find Out

Khloe Kardashian's ex-beau, Tristan Thompson, revealed that he is "very close" with one member of President Donald Trump's family.

The 35-year-old former NBA player, who appeared on the Tuesday, March 31st episode of The Katie Miller Podcast, discussed his bond with the President's son, Eric Trump. Thompson made the revelation when he was asked to name a celebrity that people would not expect him to be close with.

"I'm very close with Eric. He's been actually great for me. He's been like a big brother, mentor, been very welcoming," he said, responding to the query.

He shared that Eric, who is Trump's third-oldest child and his youngest son with his first wife, Ivana Trump, has made him want to "dive into" politics more. "That's just someone I would say, especially from, you know, the political government world that's really put his arm around me and made me, you know, he's kind of helped motivate me to, like, want to dive into this realm a little bit more," Thompson said.

According to PEOPLE, during the podcast, Miller also asked Thompson about his thoughts on Trump's "crackdown on illegal aliens." The former Cleveland Cavaliers player heaped praise on the President and said, "First of all, I love what he's done so far for our country. I think he's helped our country a lot."

He also stated that he is against transgender athletes participating in sports, saying that it could affect his daughter. However, he added that he understands "both sides" of the narrative.

Thompson was in a much-publicized on-again-off-again relationship with Khloé Kardashian from 2016 to 2021. The former pair share two children: their seven-year-old daughter, True, and their three-year-old son, Tatum.In a recent podcast interview with Stephen Miller's wife, Katie, Thompson reminisced about his first date with Khloé almost a decade ago, TMZ reported.

Listing his date with the reality TV star as his favorite memory, Thompson said, "She had leave-in conditioner in her hair, she had one of those hats we used to wear – the Smokey the Bear hats – body suit, Good American jeans on."To this, Katie replied, "[You remember] even the tags? That's pretty impressive."

But Thompson and Kardashian had a tumultuous relationship, filled with multiple cheating scandals. The ex-lovers are now focused on co-parenting their children.

Last year, Kardashian addressed rumors of a possible reconciliation with Thompson on her Khloe in Wonder Land podcast. She said that their co-parenting relationship was strictly "about the kids." "I love that he has a great relationship with his kids … I think that's a beautiful blessing. I'm never going to get in the way of that. I think it's so important for that relationship to maintain and be as strong as possible," the 41-year-old mother of two said.

Meanwhile, Thompson was last seen in the NBA in 2025. He was recently announced as one of the cast members of Netflix's Squid Game: The VIP Challenge, alongside other stars, including former Spice Girl Mel B and reality star Dylan Efron.
