Karoline Leavitt's Iran Defense Has Social Media Calling Her the Worst Press Secretary the U.S. Has Ever Seen

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt is facing social media backlash following a recent televised interview in which she defended President Donald Trump's decision to authorize military action against Iran. The backlash has included social media users calling her the worst to ever hold the position.

According to The Mirror, during her Monday, April 20, appearance on Fox News' Hannity, Leavitt defended the administration's position, criticizing "the left's false narratives" about Trump’s military policies. Leavitt added that she found media reporting on the Iran military action "despicable to watch."

She was also recently given the “supervillain” nickname by social media users after California Governor Gavin Newsom publicly mocked her after she announced Trump's support for medicinal psychedelic drug use for mental health treatment.

During her appearance she said, “The American media is still trying to say that the United States is in a worse off position than we were at the start of this, that Iran still poses a threat, it's all a bunch of nonsense. They are rooting against this president, and therefore our country, and it's really despicable to watch. The facts are the facts."

Furthermore, repeatedly commending the president during the appearance, Leavitt said, “The President, as Commander-in-Chief, still has a number of options at his disposal that he's unafraid to use. And President Trump has proven before that he does not bluff. When he makes a promise, he follows through on it. And I'm not sure why after ten years of covering this president, the American media still cannot understand, when President Trump says he's going to do something, he's going to do it.”

Users on social media pushed back against Leavitt's comments following the broadcast. One of the social media users stated, “She really liked proudly taking the role of the modern-day supervillain. Can't make this up.”

A user on X questioned, “How much longer until we don't have to listen to her spewing her lies?” while an X user added, “Don't let the truth get in the way of a sanctimonious rant..."

Another social media user took dig at Leavitt and said, “She just keeps droning on with her aggressive obnoxious loud tone - she is the worst Press Secretary the USA has ever seen."

A user on X took a jab at both Leavitt and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth writing, “between her and Hegseth crying about the media coverage, it's hard to say who's the bigger baby.”

Another X user wrote, “I don't know how she can live with herself. She's the one rooting against the country by continuing to lie for the guy who isn't fit to be president."

Having made history as the youngest White House press secretary on record, Leavitt has often been scrutinized for aggressively defending Donald Trump which often puts her in the radar of some journalists as well as the social media users.
