Karoline Leavitt Draws Heat After Defending Donald Trump’s Iran Ceasefire as a ‘Major Victory’

Karoline Leavitt recently faced backlash for posting a "shameful" update regarding Donald Trump's conflict with Iran. According to The Irish Star, on Thursday, April 9, the 28-year-old White House Press Secretary posted a Breitbart article titled, White House Celebrates Surpassing Main Goal, Concluding Iran Conflict Within Originally Estimated Timeline.

Leavitt pointed to a statement saying, "On Wednesday, the White House celebrated securing a ceasefire and claimed that the United States 'surpassed' all military goals in Iran within the expected timeline."

Many users on the internet criticized the timing of the post and the article itself. One user commented, "PUMPKIN, Exceeded means No Plans Whatsoever, SHAME on You." This follows attention over a change in Leavitt’s appearance during her press briefing on Wednesday, April 8, which many called an ‘epic failure.’

Another X user remarked, "It's simple to make statements like that when you haven't informed us of your military aims," while a third individual said, "Proclaiming victory amid a tenuous ceasefire doesn't demonstrate success - it's an effort to shape the narrative before the results are evident."

One more person exclaimed, "The truth is clear for all to witness; you are being embarrassed and belittled in front of everyone, so the quicker you acknowledge the defeat to lessen it, the better."

Some individuals supported Leavitt's dissemination of the article and the general conduct of the Trump administration, with one comment stating, "Trump is managing this perfectly." In an April 8 Breitbart article, Leavitt highlighted the success of the ceasefire and the surpassing of all military goals in Iran during a press conference following President Donald Trump's declaration of the two-week ceasefire on Tuesday.

"Regarding the two-week ceasefire declared by President Trump last night, this is a triumph for the United States of America that the president and our remarkable military achieved," said Leavitt, informing the reporters on Wednesday. She further added, "Right from the start of Operation Epic Fury, President Trump declared it would last four to six weeks to eliminate the military threat from the extremist Islamic Iranian regime.”

In the press briefing, Leavitt emphasized that the U.S. "met and surpassed" its main goals in the war in a little more than five weeks. "The U.S. military eradicated Iran’s defense industrial infrastructure, dismantling the regime's capacity to produce weapons that they and their affiliates deploy to injure and kill Americans and instill fear globally," she said.

"Iran's capability to manufacture and accumulate ballistic missiles and long-range drones has been delayed by years compared to its status six weeks ago, before Operation Epic Fury commenced," Leavitt stressed.

Karoline Leavitt also pointed out that Iran's navy has been obliterated, its capacity to fund terrorism has been reduced, and it cannot acquire a nuclear weapon due to Operation Epic Fury.
