Kamala Harris Considers 2028 Presidential Run, Calls for ‘Revival of the American Dream’
Despite tasting defeat against President Donald Trump in 2024, Kamala Harris has hinted at keeping the doors open for a third presidential election in 2028. The member of the Blue Party claimed that she knows her work is chalked out, blaming both the Democrats and the Republicans for their economic policies.
In her recent speech, the 2024 presidential nominee criticized the flawed forecasts of the Democrats. She stated that her insight will improve the American economy and would even help to grow it consistently.
‘American Dream Has All But Turned Into American Myth’
Speaking at the Arkansas Democratic Party’s Annual Fisher Shackel Dinner, Kamala Harris had some strong words for the Democrats and the Republican parties. According to excerpts shared by NBC News, Rev Al Sharpton asked her if she considered running for president again.

She replied, “Listen, I might. I’m thinking about it.” Her response led to a loud cheer from the audience, showcasing their approval for the decision. She backed her decision, stating that she has served for four years, being “heartbeat away from the presidency of the United States.” Harris added that she knows what the job is about and knows what it requires to be a successful leader.
The member of the Blue Party stated that she has been travelling around the country, and she was certain about one thing. She said, “The status quo is not working and hasn’t been working and has not been working for a long time.” She claimed that one of the glaring issues is the need to “get rid of some of the bureaucracy and government.”
Harris believed that the president should understand that the American people prefer progress over process. She argued, “If we just trusted the wisdom of the market, working people would eventually get taken care of. That growth at the top would take care of everyone else.”
Hence, despite people working tirelessly, the economic system failed to deliver for them. She added, “Over time, for so many, the American Dream has all but turned into American myth.”
Harris Blames Both Parties' ‘Flawed Assumptions’ Affected American Economy
During the same speech, Harris emphasized the “revival of the American dream,” criticizing both parties for issuing failed economic policies. She stated that the Democratic Party “never bought into trickle-down [economics]. That was Ronald Reagan’s doing.”
She continued, stating that several other Democrats “buy into the flawed assumptions behind it.” Her remarks come weeks after Al Sharpton considered her to be a “potent force” for the 2028 presidential election. Harris prepared remarks for the members of the Democratic Party, emphasizing the need to “pursue a vision for the future.”
She spoke about dealing with the aftermath of President Donald Trump’s remaining time in office, as well as after his term ends. Harris outlined a “bold agenda” that features a plan for public education, setting up students for the 21st century.
