Al Sharpton Declares Kamala Harris a ‘Potent Force’—But Flags What Democrats Are Ignoring

Al Sharpton sees immense potential in Kamala Harris as a Democratic candidate. However, he is immensely disappointed at the Blue party for overlooking her as their 2028 candidate. The political activist firmly believes that she is a well-respected member in the Black community.
The party can use this to its advantage and rake in votes against the Republicans. But he complained that the party’s constant decision to ignore her and find other candidates would cost them, as he spoke more about the current political scenario.
Al Sharpton’s Immense Faith in Kamala Harris
Kamala Harris was devastated after losing to Donald Trump.
The political activist Al Sharpton sat down with Politico, talking about the ideal candidate for the 2028 elections. He explained that candidates will be jostling for the support of the Black voters, and it will be received only by that candidate who can “ultimately influence them.”
He added, “Two years out, we’ll see some of the people that have been thinking of running, and they’ll see us.” And gave a long list of candidates, including Ro Khanna, Wes Moore, and more. But the most important was the former Vice President Kamala Harris. He claimed that she was a “major candidate” and remained far ahead in the race.
Sharpton emphasized that he “wouldn’t ignore the fact that she’s absolutely a potent force in the Black community.” He believes that she still has deep ties in the Black community and would get more votes than any other presidential candidate in the history of America. He remarked, “I think she has been ignored, and we’re going to raise that at our convention.”
However, Al Sharpton believes that following her defeat to Trump during the 2024 presidential campaign, she might not try again. Irrespective of the reason, he thinks she deserves all the respect for what she had done during that campaign.
Kamala Harris Will Stand Out in the 2028 Presidential Election
In the same interview by Politico, it was reported that Harris running for the presidency in 2028 will have far-reaching effects. It is believed that the move will be a “flex” in itself because she will not only have deep ties with Black voters but also make an effort to keep those ties warm.
An anonymous insider said, “As she considers what another candidacy looks like, she knows that there are voters there.” Hence, the idea of her not running for president again can never be ruled out. After all, she notices the problems of the people and speaks for them as she tries to fill those gaps.
