Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck finalized their divorce in January 2025. Despite their separation, their $60 million Beverly Hills property remained a point of contention as they struggled to find buyers. Nonetheless, according to reports, Affleck gave his share of property to avoid any drama.

Now, the latest reports suggest that the actress and singer sees the move as a hope that their relationship may work out again.

According to Star Magazine, a source shared that Lopez sees a “good guy” in Affleck, with whom she once had a romantic relationship. The source said, “(Jennifer) can’t help but see it as proof he’s the good guy she fell in love with, and she’s back to hoping that somehow, they might be able to work it out.”

However, the source clarifies that Affleck is simply trying to clear things up and avoid making the situation any worse. He added, “He feels like this will absolve him of the way he messed with her head. But that’s typical of Ben — he’s trying to avoid drama and only creating more.”

Earlier this week, TMZ reported that Affleck signed over his entire share of the $60 million mansion. The publication obtained court documents that revealed changes to the property settlement agreement, indicating a “transfer of property among spouses.”

While the documents didn’t specify the nature of the transfer, sources close to the development revealed that it was carried out without any monetary exchange.

The publication notes the couple purchased the property in May 2023 and invested significantly in renovations. However, since July 2024, a month before JLo filed for divorce, they had been trying to find buyers but had failed to find any.

According to the report, the couple reduced the asking price from $68 million to $52 million in September 2024, but it didn’t help much either. While the 56-year-old actress may have seen Affleck’s decision as a sign of reconciliation, a source told journalist Rob Shuter's Substack newsletter otherwise.

Shuter quoted a source as saying, “This isn’t him giving anything. This is him paying to be done. That house is the last tie. And he wants it gone, fast. He’d pay anything at this point, because peace of mind is worth more than the money.”

The insider further insisted that the Gone Girl actor is not making the move out of “kindness” and rather making a “smart decision” for himself. “He wants a clean, absolute break. And this is the quickest way to get there,” the source added.
