Elissa Slotkin Needs the Midwest to Win General Elections
During an interview (via The Detroit News), Slotkin stated that she is finding a way to add value to the Democratic Party by getting the support of the midwestern states. She said that the old system is not working for people and claimed that it is an open secret. She emphasized that the system has changed, and they need to change with it.
She continued that it would be “malpractice” if the DNC excluded a midwestern state, and would even “get in a cage match” to earn the early voting window. Slotking also said that the candidates “need the Midwest” to win a general election, and wanted to test these candidates in the Midwest.
The Senator thinks this tactic will make them stronger candidates and will be massive, as they learn how the election works in the Midwest. Nevertheless, she joked that the elections would not be like what happens in New York or California and would be a cage match among candidates to secure the top spot.
