Amid her battle with thyroid cancer, former Attorney General Pam Bondi will testify before House lawmakers who are investigating late s-x offender Jeffrey Epstein’s criminal activities on Friday, May 29.
This appearance is expected to open up fresh interrogation over the Department of Justice's (DOJ) alleged mishandling of the release of the Epstein files.
According to ABC News, Bondi was reportedly combative and refused to align with the questioning during her previous public testimony when she was grilled by lawmakers on the House Judiciary Committee about the Epstein case.
Closed-Door Questioning of Pam Bondi
Pam Bondi will be questioned regarding the Jeffrey Epstein files in a private hearing.
The session will be conducted behind closed doors, an arrangement that has left critics disappointed.
The transcribed interview is intended to allow lawmakers to gain more insight into the DOJ's compliance with the Epstein Files Transparency Act.
This includes scrutiny over information regarding the prison sentence of Epstein’s former girlfriend and accomplice, Ghislaine Maxwell, whom the DOJ moved to a prison camp in August 2025.
Rep. Yassamin Ansari, an Arizona Democrat on the House Oversight Committee, spoke about Bondi’s scheduled deposition.
“I think she absolutely could clear up many missing pieces if she wanted to. Now it’s a question of whether or not she is willing to be transparent,” Ansari stated.
Ansari also shared a video on her X handle announcing that she would be participating in the questioning of Bondi on May 29.
However, she pointed out some discrepancies in the private nature of the interview process, expressing disappointment that the proceedings would not be made public.

The Arizona Democrat asked her followers on X to submit questions they wish to see posed to Bondi during the grilling.
Social media users flooded the comment section with sharp inquiries for Bondi.
One user wrote, “Ask her this: What do you think should happen to a person who repeatedly lied under oath to Congress and the American people and proliferated an aggressive cover-up of high-profile figures who committed serious crimes against women and children?”
Another user suggested asking, “Why she won’t testify under oath?”
A third user posed a more direct question, “How do you sleep at night? How can you live with yourself?”
According to reports, through the questioning of Bondi -- who was removed from her attorney general position by Donald Trump on April 2 -- lawmakers are trying to determine what decisions prosecutors made regarding the interrogation of Epstein associates, how the DOJ handled the congressional mandate to release the Epstein files, and whether the White House was involved in the redaction process.
Bondi, who recently revealed her battle with thyroid cancer, appears to remain in the good graces of the administration despite her unceremonious exist as the attorney general.
The president appointed her to a White House panel on artificial intelligence and the Presidential Council of Advisors on Science and Technology (PCAST) this week.
Bondi will be accompanied by DOJ officials during her questioning, including Harmeet Dhillon -- who heads the department’s Civil Rights Division and is acting as Bondi’s counsel -- an arrangement that has reportedly drawn criticism from committee Democrats.
