Bondi's new appointment comes less than two months after Trump fired her from the U.S. Attorney General position. Her 14-month tenure ended after there was a growing frustration in the White House over her handling of the sensitive Jeffrey Epstein files.
Trump, however, announced her departure on Truth Social and talked about her move to the private sector. He wrote, “Pam Bondi is a Great American Patriot and a loyal friend, who faithfully served as my Attorney General over the past year. Pam did a tremendous job overseeing a massive crackdown in Crime across our Country, with Murders plummeting to their lowest level since 1900.We love Pam, and she will be transitioning to a much-needed and important new job in the private sector, to be announced at a date in the near future.”
Bondi, too, shared a statement at the time of her firing. Talking about her next professional steps, Bondi said that she was "thrilled about moving to an important private sector role.”
