Harry Styles briefly responded to a pro-Palestinian shout from the crowd during the opening night of his Together, Together tour in Amsterdam and his response went viral
The moment took place on Saturday, May 16, at Johan Cruijff ArenA, where Styles kicked off the first leg of his new tour. In the clip, a fan shouted, Viva Palestina, which means “Long live Palestine,” while Styles stood onstage with a guitar and he is seen responding with: “Correct.”

Since Styles rarely speaks publicly about the Israel-Gaza war or the Palestinian cause, the clip quickly went viral. The clip came from the TikTok account @raquiraq, but has since spread across social media platforms.
Styles, 32, opened the tour in Amsterdam after several years away from major touring. The official Johan Cruijff ArenA listing stated that the Amsterdam run includes 10 shows at the venue. Live Nation listed the first concert for Saturday, May 16, with a 7:30 p.m. show time.
The tour marks the British pop star’s return to the stage after his Love On Tour series, which ended in 2023. His official tour page confirmed the Amsterdam opening show for May 16 and named Robyn as the special guest for that date.
The Amsterdam concert also gained attention for the scale of Styles’ comeback. The Sun reported that the show featured songs from Fine Line, Harry’s House, and his latest album, Kiss All The Time. Disco, Occasionally. The large stage setup and the “night out” theme were designed to enhance the fan experience.
The One Direction star was prepared for his big tour.
Styles has focused much of his public image on music, fashion, and connecting with fans, rather than on direct political commentary. This made the exchange in Amsterdam stand out, especially since it happened spontaneously during a break in the show, rather than through a prepared speech.
Online reactions varied as some fans praised Styles for acknowledging the chant instead of ignoring it. Others felt his comment was too brief to be considered a full statement. Some posts highlighted Styles’ past charitable work with Choose Love, a humanitarian organization that supports refugees and aid efforts, including for Palestinians.
Per NME, the Choose Love charity organization provides medical supplies to Palestinian refugees. The Palestinian debate has come to music as there has been backlash to Israel’s inclusion in the 2026 Eurovision Song Contest.
Several countries have boycotted the event in response, including Ireland and Spain. Public sentiment has also shifted in favor of Palestinians following the Gaza conflict.
The reports of a high death toll of civilian casualties and alleged acts of war crimes played a role in the negative perception of Israel's handling of the war.
The Amsterdam residency continues before Styles takes the tour to other cities. Hindustan Times reported that the tour is planned to run through Dec. 13 in Sydney, with stops in London, Brazil, Mexico, the United States, and Australia.
