'Give It a Rest, Lady!': Netizens Slam Blake Lively as Judge Blocks New Filings in Justin Baldoni Case
It seems that the drama involving Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni is refusing to die down even after the two actors recently settled their nearly two-year legal dispute.
The former co-stars, it appears, are still going at it with each other as Lively claims that she is entitled to receive legal fees from her It Ends With Us co-star.
Now, a federal judge has barred attorneys for Lively and Baldoni from filing additional briefs without explicit court approval.
This signals that the court is ready to move toward a decision in their ongoing post-settlement legal dispute.
'They Don't See the Benefit of Additional Submissions'
An Instagram post by Extra TV shares an update regarding the Blake Lively-Justin Baldoni legal dispute.
According to TMZ, Lively had filed a lawsuit under California law, claiming that she is entitled to receive damages and legal fees as the winning party against Baldoni’s defamation suit.
However, Lively's claims were soon dismissed.
The court documents, obtained by the media outlet, showed that the judge denied her request to file additional briefs.
U.S. District Judge Lewis Liman issued a directive barring further filings without court approval, describing the matter as an "increasingly drawn-out post-settlement dispute," according to OK! Magazine.
The ruling indicated the court is prepared to move toward a decision without additional submissions from either party.
Lively's legal team had attempted to submit additional briefing arguing that the issues in the case had evolved since 2025. Liman, however, declined the request.
Attorney and law professor Danny Karon said that a judge barring additional briefing often means “they’re fed up with the lawyers.”
"They don't see the benefit of additional submissions, or they're simply tired of reading," he said, adding, "As in life, less tends to be more, and attorneys should strive to take as few pages as possible to make their point."
Social Media Reacts to Blake Lively-Justin Baldoni Legal Drama
The ruling drew varied responses on social media from netizens who said that they were fatigued by the prolonged legal dispute.
One user wrote, "Hahaha so true, some people just can't accept defeat." Another wrote, "Judge says 'Are you done yet?!' (IYKYK)."
An individual commented, "Never thought I say this but I want this lawsuit to be closed completely so Justin can finally tell his full story."
One user stated, "I don't know why she keeps going. No one is taking her seriously. I can't even imagine how much money she has wasted on lawyers."
"Lively has suffered setbacks in all areas of life, so no surprise here," another added.
An individual quipped, "The judge said, give it a rest, lady!"
