Supermodel Gigi Hadid has broken her silence after being named in the Epstein Files along with her sister Bella Hadid. Both were mentioned in a 2015 email exchange between disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein and an individual whose name was redacted by the Department of Justice. The appearance of the Hadid sisters raised questions and sparked discussion online. However, Gigi denied the association while adding that her mention in the files made her “sick to the stomach.”

According to The Daily Beast, in a 2015 email exchange between Jeffrey Epstein and the anonymous individual, the person asked how the Hadid sisters had ‘become models and made so much money,’ further claiming that their father, Palestinian-American real estate developer Mohammed Hadid, may have “paid” the modeling agency. In response to this, Epstein clarified, “No,” asserting that they “follow directions” and it was quite a “simple” concept. Nonetheless, the mystery man remained unconvinced by Epstein’s answer as he argued, “There are too many girls giving b---jobs,” and the disgraced financier said, “Agreed.”

On the other hand, internet users were shocked after the emails were made public. In fact, one commenter wrote on Gigi Hadid’s Instagram post on March 29, stating that he had to unfollow her over her silence. For the first time, the 30-year-old supermodel reacted to the mention and denied her association with the disgraced financier in a long reply. In a now-deleted reply, she said, “Made me sick to my stomach. Horrible to read someone you’ve never met speak about you that way. Especially in this context. I didn't comment because I don't want to take away from the stories of real victims of his; but your comment made me realize maybe it’s not clear - and it's important to let you know.”

Gigi Hadid reacts to being mentioned in a Jeffrey Epstein email.

She added, “To be named in those files, I think I was 20–21 at the time he would have written that email - is disturbing. And I want to state unequivocally that I have never had any affiliation with that disgusting human being.”

Gigi acknowledged her privileged upbringing while crediting her parents for protecting her and teaching her the value of hard work that brought them to the US and gave them careers. She stated that her mother took her to meetings with agencies in New York, including those her mother had been signed to.

It was later in 2018 that she joined IMG Models, an agency with which her mother had no association. She insisted, “I’ve worked hard every moment since. To be named in those files, I think I was 20-21 at the time he would have written that email—is disturbing, and I want to state unequivocally that I have never had any affiliation with that disgusting human being.” On a concluding note, she wished for Epstein, stating, “May he rest in…,” followed by multiple fire emojis that seemingly signified h-ll.

Notably, Naomi Campbell is another of the most popular names to have featured in around 300 documents. According to the New York Times, Campbell’s lawyer, Martin Singer, claimed that his client did not know about Epstein’s “heinous criminal conduct until after his 2019 arrest” and had no contact with him after that.
