On the occasion of her 11th birthday, the Prince and Princess of Wales shared a new photograph of Princess Charlotte through their official channels. The image featured Charlotte alongside Prince William, capturing a moment between father and daughter as part of the birthday post.

In the photo, the young princess can be seen standing amidst a field of flowers, beaming at the camera. Many social media users shared their disbelief at her and Prince William's uncanny resemblance, with many noting that "she is looking more and more like her father now".

Reports suggest that the royal family maintains strict expectations regarding public behavior. The children are expected to follow established rules and protocols. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s children have not been part of these traditions, while Prince William and Princess Catherine’s children continue to follow them. Princess Charlotte shares a bond with her father, Prince William.

During a trip to Blackpool Park in 2019, William revealed that he discovered how to style Charlotte's hair via YouTube. According to People, when Princess Catherine asked George if he tried to braid Charlotte's hair, he replied, "I can do ponytail, but that's about it as I don't have enough hair to practice on!"

According to a recent royal biography, Prince William always wanted a daughter and was certain of what he would name her. In his book William and Catherine: The Monarchy’s New Era: The Inside Story, Russell Myers revealed that one part of Princess Charlotte Elizabeth Diana’s name was decided well in advance of her birth on May 2, 2015. The Prince of Wales reportedly wished to name his daughter partly in honor of his late mother, Princess Diana, who passed away in 1997 when William was 15 years old.

According to a royal expert, Neil San, in his conversation with Fox News, revealed that Prince William wanted to give his kids a 'normal childhood without the confines of royal life'. He said, "Both Kate and William… like the idea of having them mix with all the other children of their age to make friends and enjoy a normal childhood without the confines of royal life".

He added, “William, in particular, enjoys doing this as he remembers with such great affection how his mother, the wonderful Princess Diana, arranged all kinds of things for both him and his brother Harry to do, like fast-food restaurants, shows, seaside holidays and so forth. Kate always had this [growing up] and it’s something that she wanted to continue with her own children, giving them life skills and, of course, a fun and loving childhood.”

In 2025, at the Women's Euro Final, Princess Charlotte joined her father in Basel, Switzerland, for the epic showdown between England and Spain. At the event, the Prince of Wales and 10-year-old Princess Charlotte were photographed in a touching hug. According to The Mirror, a body language expert analyzed the "strength of bonds" evident in the royal father-daughter pair as they showed the unique quality of their "strong" bond.

Body language specialist Judi James noted that Prince William and the young one's rare moment revealed the "mutual happiness" of the duo. James said, “There are signals of shared joy and awe as the pair lean together, waiting for the presentation of the trophies. With his arm around his daughter's shoulders and her legs crossed towards her dad, this is a rare moment for any royal, illustrating the levelling power of sport on everyone's psyche.”

Prince William has been seen interacting with his daughter during public appearances. During the Christmas Day royal walkabout in 2025, he stood a short distance away while Princess Charlotte took pictures and engaged with members of the public. He later asked if she was alright, to which she responded, “Yeah.”
