As the daughter of Stephen Baldwin and niece of Alec, Hailey Bieber transitioned from one prominent name to another by marrying Justin Bieber. To establish her own identity, she explored many options, like modeling, a YouTube channel, and currently a skincare brand named Rhode after herself. Above all, Hailey seemed to hit the jackpot of social capital through her fashion.

Her model-off-duty aesthetic has been credited with popularizing trends such as glazed donut nails, monochromatic outfits, and sporty, oversized styles. She has also remained in the spotlight due to her conflict with her partner’s ex, Selena Gomez. Online discussions among Selena’s fans have framed Hailey as a “mean girl.” While some supporters have challenged that portrayal, the label has affected her public image.

Hailey was accused of 'begging' to be on cover of magazine

As reported by Interview Magazine, Hailey Bieber directly requested them for a cover story. This detail, highlighted at the beginning of the article and shared widely on social media, generated widespread criticism. Many users on Instagram and X believed her request for a cover story was an act of "begging."

"So she had to ask for it when other celebrities are asked", one comment read. Reacting to the accusations that she calls the paparazzi herself and also the biggest misconception about her, she said, "The spirit behind it is very dark, and I don’t think it’s something that anybody asks for in this world, so I find it really funny when I’ll see people online being like, ‘She calls the paparazzi on herself every day.’ It’s so icky.”

Hailey Bieber said she would take legal action against those portraying her as a “stalker” and a “mean girl.”

She further added, "I feel like we're past the misconception that I'm a b***h. This is not a misconception, but I feel like people really don't understand me, which I think is quite common for someone in the public eye."

Fans think Hailey 'body-shamed' Selena and mocked her eyebrows

For Hailey, the 'mean girl' label didn't stop, as she was accused of body-shaming Selena Gomez and also mocking her eyebrows, according to Daily Mail. The body-shaming controversy began when Selena received backlash for her bikini pictures. Hailey's TikTok clip, in which she lip-synced the line, "I’m not saying she deserved it, but G*d’s timing is always right," caused fans to interpret it as a subtle jab.

After Selena shared a TikTok where she joked about 'over-laminating' her eyebrows, Kylie Jenner shared a selfie on her Instagram Stories, writing, "Was this an accident?" talking about her eyebrows. Later, Kylie posted a screenshot of a FaceTime call with Hailey, highlighting their eyebrow close-ups. Many of Selena's fans speculated that Kylie was mocking Selena, resulting in thousands of them unfollowing her.

The Rhode founder was also accused of being rude to people

In the viral clip shared by @juliacarolann, she criticized Hailey Bieber for her impolite behavior, saying, “This is gonna be controversial. I’ve met her a handful of times, and she was not nice. I really want to like her, but I give her, like, a 3.5 out of 10. Sorry.”

The fashion mogul reacted to the video and said, “Just came across this video, and wanted to say so sorry if I’ve ever given you bad vibes or a bad attitude. That’s not ever my intention! Hate hearing that was your experience with me, but glad you called me out so I can do better!! Hopefully, we meet again so I can apologize in person.”

The exchange gained traction online, sparking wider reactions across social media.
