On November 3, firefighters rescued a dog named Bandit from a smoke-filled house in Florida. On November 19, they confirmed that Bandit was totally recovered.

Bandit was inside the home when a house fire broke out and he needed to be administered oxygen and treated by an emergency vet service, but it soon became clear that the sweet pup would be alright.

Just a couple weeks after the incident, the brave firefighters who rescued him enjoyed the most wholesome meet and greet with the animal in their fire station, taking the opportunity to share a few more details about the story with the public.

The Clearwater Dire & Rescue Department saved Bandit's life.

"When Bandit was trapped inside a smoke-filled house early Sunday, our firefighters saved him," Clearwater Fire & Rescue Department wrote on social media at the start of the month. "They gave him oxygen on scene to help his lungs and then Clearwater Police rushed him to a local emergency vet for treatment. The message was clear: People were deeply invested in Bandit getting better, and "he’s expected to be OK" just wasn't quite enough information to keep them going.

Luckily, this week the Fire & Rescue Department had an in-depth update to give everyone who was concerned.

Firefighters got a sweet meet and greet with Bandit weeks after rescuing him.

"This morning, our crew members got to meet Bandit, a dog they rescued earlier this month during a house fire on Barbara Avenue," they wrote on social media alongside the loveliest photos of the day's events. "Bandit was found unresponsive on a bed in a back room and was quickly brought outside and given oxygen through a special pet-rescue mask. He then was whisked away to a local emergency veterinarian in a police cruiser with a fire medic riding along and tending to the pooch. As you can see from the photos, he's made a great recovery and is doing well. His owner, Brian Rogers, came to Station 45 today to thank firefighters for saving the dog's life."

Go, Bandit!
