Zohran Mamdani old tweets against Barack Obama emerge after their meeting
Zohran Mamdani Once Called Obama Evil — Now He's Singing Songs With Him in the Bronx
New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani met with former President Barack Obama for the first time Saturday, April 19, at a Bronx child care center. The two read stories and sang songs with children, using the visit to highlight Mamdani's push for expanding free child care.
However, the meeting quickly sparked debate online after old tweets resurfaced. During the Fox & Friends segment, Brian Kilmeade and Marc Thiessen unearthed 2013 tweets where the current New York City Mayor had slammed Barack Obama, reports The Irish Star.

Brian Kilmeade and Marc Thiessen discuss Mamdani and Obama’s meeting
On the morning program, Brian Kilmeade and Marc Thiessen questioned Obama’s involvement. “Are you surprised how much President Obama is getting involved with the proud Democratic Socialist mayor?" Kilmeade asked.
To which Thiessen remarked that the Democratic Party might be moving too far toward socialism. He said, “Well, first of all, if the Democrats keep embracing socialism, the wheels are going to come off the bus.”
He added, “Because that's not the direction the Democratic Party wants to go.” Yet, the former speechwriter for George W. Bush didn't seem surprised by Obama and Mamdani's meeting, as he believes “they're very similar in a way.”
Obama "launched the pivot of the Democratic Party away from Bill Clinton's centrist triangulation," Thiessen said.

Following Thiessen’s remarks, host Brian Kilmeade unearthed old social media posts in which Mamdani, criticized Obama. During the Fox & Friends segment, Kilmeade spoke about tweets Mamdani wrote in 2013, tweets in which Mamdani openly criticized the then-president.
In one post, Mamdani wrote, "Hasn't Obama shown that lesser evil is still pretty d--- evil?” followed by another, where he wrote, “I can't trust quotes from Barack Obama, not since he's continuing lying in the face of the Snowden NSA revelations.”
He also tweeted, “Obama and de Blasio, don't you just got to love what passes who are progressive in the U.S.?” After pulling out these tweets from the New York City Mayor, Kilmeade asked, "Who changed?”
To which Thiessen noted, “People have to realize Mamdani is not the path out of the wilderness for the Democrats. This is a guy who thinks Obama is too much of a right-winger for the Democratic Party.”
He continued, “If anything, it's Mamdani who's sort of compromising by meeting with Obama.” Thiessen explained that Mamdani once saw Obama as too conservative. The meeting, Thiessen implied, represented a shift from Mamdani's earlier posture toward Obama.
