Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni’s prolonged legal battle has emerged as one of the most high-profile legal disputes in Hollywood. It all began after the actress accused her It Ends With Us co-star of misconduct on the set, including harassment, in December 2024.

However, the dispute also names other prominent celebrities in court documents as “individuals who are likely to have discoverable information.” Now, it seems that Lively is also planning to bring a pop star into the case as part of her legal strategy.

According to E! News, other celebrities were named in Lively and Baldoni’s drama, which also included Taylor Swift. This was also said to have strained Swift and Lively’s friendship. However, now it seems that Britney Spears might also be embroiled in this legal case.

Britney Spears might get embroiled in Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni's legal battle.

Lively might be planning to use Spears and Baldoni’s past awkward encounter to her advantage in court, though it could draw scrutiny. This is especially because the Toxic hitmaker is going through a vulnerable time on a personal level, and voluntarily checked herself into a rehab facility last month after a DUI arrest.

In such a scenario, being dragged into someone else’s fiasco might not work well for her healing and recovery. The details surrounding Britney Spears’ alleged role in Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni’s legal battle have also been revealed.

Justin Baldoni’s Awkward Encounter With Britney Spears

Justin Baldoni and Britney Spears had an awkward past encounter.

The Gossip Girl star is reportedly going to use a 2017 Fuse TV video interview of Baldoni, where he had recalled meeting the pop singer on the set of Jane the Virgin. The singer was a guest star on the series, where he played the role of Rafael Solano.

The clip had the Clouds actor telling how he shared an awkward hug with Britney Spears when they met for the first time, and the kind of language that he had used had some similarities to the language that he had used for Lively.

Justin Baldoni had revealed in the interview, “I was like, 'Hey! Hey!' And I just gave her a big hug, and I think I scared her, because she was like, 'Hi.'"

He also imitated the singer’s reaction to meeting him, which was not very pleasant. He added, “I just kind of had this awkward moment of, 'Did I just harass Britney Spears?'"

Now, the Rhythm Section actress and her legal team might be planning to use this reference in the case to highlight a pattern of behavior with Baldoni. While back then, the actor had shared the anecdote jokingly, adding that it also became a running joke on the set, Lively and her team reportedly may reference the usage of the word “harass” by him.

Blake Lively had accused Justin Baldoni of several other instances of misconduct, including allegedly kissing her while in character, talking about pornography on the set, and creating an unhealthy atmosphere on the set for her shortly after she gave birth to her fourth child. She also alleged that when she tried to protest, there was a strong retaliation against her along with a reported smear campaign.
