An X post on Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni's recent legal settlement.

Internal emails exchanged among Betty Booze employees on September 10, 2024, detailed a conversation that took place between a brand representative and a staff member at Kroger, a company that stocks the product.

The Betty Booze employee who interacted with the Kroger representative wrote in the email, “I just got off the phone with the SGWS Kroger VP, and the first thing he mentioned to me was that Betty Booze was just discussed... there is a negative taste in Kroger’s mouth based on the [Blake Lively] interview from the movie, and they said they will be closely monitoring sales on the brand.”

However, the email did not specify which interview the Kroger representative referenced.

Furthermore, the Betty Booze representative was also concerned that the supermarket chain was “expecting a negative sales impact, and they’re wondering what [Lively] will be doing to course correct and make things right with her audience.”

Apart from this, a text message from the vice president of food and beverage at Princess Cruises, a Betty Booze stockist, also expressed concern.

"By the way, our legal ethics and compliance committee board spooked with Blake !!! I am working things out; hopefully will not have any effect," the message stated.

An X post on Blake Lively's Met Gala 2026 appearance.

The legal documents allege that the alcohol brand was “forced to go dark” as a result of the scandalous headlines that were emerging amid Lively and Baldoni’s legal battle.

The Age of Adaline star’s claims were also supported by the documents that stated that Betty Booze was garnering negative comments on Instagram and that the follower growth of the brand was allegedly stunted by a “negative PR.”

The uncovered documents were part of Lively’s “evidence” against Baldoni, whom she accused of allegedly running a smear campaign against her in December 2024, in addition to accusations of sexual harassment and creating a toxic work environment on the sets of It Ends With Us.

The internet also reacted to their settlement, which was announced on May 4. While some praised The Shallows actress for getting through this tumultuous time bravely, others took potshots at her.

One X user stated, “Ended Baldoni so bad, Let’s go Blake.”

Another wrote, “Settlement means Blake won, full stop.”

However, one X user took a dig at her, commenting, “Shall we move on when you lied, Blake? You tried to ruin Justin’s career.”

Another user claimed, “The only awareness that was raised was that Blake and her friends are not very good people.”
