'Worst Dressed Ever': Former NASCAR Driver Danica Patrick Faces Online Mockery Over Indy 500 Outfit

Former professional racing driver Danica Patrick faced heavy backlash over her sartorial choice at an Indy 500 event, which took place at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway on Sunday, May 24.

Patrick was reportedly trolled for an off-shoulder, black and white dress last year, when she was part of the Fox Sports race coverage.

This year, she opted for a similar off-shoulder dress -- but in a shade of red.

However, social media scrutiny followed soon enough, which, it appeared, might have had something to do with her coming out as a MAGA supporter.

While some individuals praised Patrick's ode to the late stock car racing driver Kyle Busch, others heavily criticized her red outfit.

However, considering that the former NASCAR driver shrugged off trolls last year through an Instagram post, many feel that she might do the same again this year.

Public opinion about Patrick remains divided at present. While some respect her strong legacy in the field of racing as a female sportsperson, others have been left disappointed with her pro-MAGA stance.

Her red off-shoulder dress was quick to garner some criticism on X.

Patrick had fired back at her trolls last year by sharing a picture of her black and white off-shoulder dress on her Instagram handle, with the caption, “Since I was behind a desk for the broadcast yesterday."

She also paid a tribute to Busch, who passed away at the age of 41 on May 21, after reportedly suffering from pneumonia, which had turned into sepsis.

Referring to Busch's death, Patrick said, “I think that we're all just shocked. We're sad. I feel like it hasn't even hit. It's just something that no one expected. When I first heard something was wrong, I thought he was driving something, but it was something completely different."
