President Donald Trump faced significant criticism over his recent Memorial Day speech at Arlington National Cemetery.

During the speech, he talked about recent military actions and honored American soldiers who lost their lives while serving the nation.

However, his lighthearted "not too many Donalds" comment quickly turned into a source of online backlash online.

Addressing the crowd, Trump highlighted recent military operations and claimed significant foreign policy successes.

He said, "In two wars recently we've lost a total of 13 service members, in Venezuela -- which was a complete and total victory, where we're working very closely with the Venezuelan government right now. We took that over in one day. Lost no one. In Operation Epic Fury, we lost 13 wonderful souls."

'He Is Basically Insulting Those Buried There'

The backlash against the president stemmed from a moment where Trump began listing names of the fallen service members buried on the cemetery grounds.

He noted the massive scale of the sacrifice, stating that “400,000 souls” rested in the sacred soil.

As he read through the common names of those buried at Arlington, he listed traditional names like “William,” “John,” and “James.” However, the tone of the event shifted quickly when he uttered the name Donald.

Trump paused and smiled, while noting that there were “not too many” fallen service members named Donald.

Critics and political opponents immediately slammed the president for such a gesture. They argued that making an aside during a solemn roll call for fallen heroes was disrespectful to military families.

Trump's remarks didn't sit right with the critics, who slammed him for joking at a military cemetery.

Reacting to the same, one X user wrote, "By laughing after “not too many Donalds” he means “I was smart enough to lie my way out of the draft.”

Another user stated, "He is basically insulting those buried there and their families." An individual pointed out, "Might be his most insightful statement ever regarding his character."

One commented, "People avoided naming their sons, Donald. Too close to Donald Duck. This rant is just stupid."

Donald Trump Takes a Dig at Democrats

Trump's controversial cemetery speech followed a familiar pattern from earlier that morning.

Instead of sharing a traditional message dedicated to honoring the fallen troops, the president combined a brief mention of the military with a direct jab aimed at the Democrats.

He wrote, "Happy Memorial Day to all, including the Dumocrats, who disrespect our Military and all of the tremendous success that it has had over the last year. G-d Bless those that have made the ultimate sacrifice. I love you all! President DONALD J. TRUMP."
