Trump's aide draws comparisons to Melania Trump.
Who Is Margo Martin? The Trump Aide Going Viral for Looking Like Melania Trump Explained
Margo Martin, a senior communications aide to President Donald Trump, has gone viral after repeatedly being confused with Melania Trump during high-profile public appearances.
As Trump’s latest international trip pushed several of his female staffers into the spotlight, Martin drew attention online, who has become one of the most recognizable faces around the president, reports The Irish Star.
The visual similarity is easy to understand given Martin's consistent styling choices: dark sunglasses, black ensembles and highlighted brunette hair. Martin, 30, currently serves as Special Assistant to the President and Communications Advisor and has quietly become one of the most trusted people in Trump’s MAGA world.
According to reports, Martin has taken on additional responsibilities while Leavitt has been away, helping run Trump’s fast-moving social media machine and documenting his every move online.
Margo Martin and Trump
The Oklahoma native first entered politics in 2019 after graduating from Texas Christian University. She started as a junior press aide in Trump’s White House and quickly climbed the ranks thanks to her loyalty and nonstop work ethic.
While many staffers reportedly distanced themselves after Trump’s 2020 election loss, Martin stayed firmly by his side and even relocated to Florida to help with his post-presidency operations. Her decision to stay proved consequential for her career trajectory.
Within months, she became lead press secretary for Trump’s post-presidential office before later landing a top communications role with his Save America PAC. When Trump returned to the White House, Martin officially stepped into her current role as Special Assistant and Communications Advisor.
Martin has become one of the central figures behind Trump's social media presence. She is often spotted filming behind-the-scenes videos of Trump on her iPhone during rallies, flights and international appearances, helping create the polished social media clips that regularly flood MAGA-friendly accounts online.
She’s even earned a memorable nickname from Trump himself, who once reportedly called her “the most beautiful photographer in the world.” But while Martin’s political influence has quietly grown, it’s her resemblance to Melania that really sent the internet into chaos.
The confusion first exploded after Martin accompanied Trump to a Miami courthouse while wearing oversized dark sunglasses and an all-black jumpsuit that many viewers instantly associated with the first lady’s signature style.
Trump personally welcomed the Indiana Hoosiers
Things got even more awkward in 2023 when Fox News anchor John Roberts mistakenly identified Martin as Melania live on air. “We have some video that we want to play out here, Melania Trump entering the courthouse...” Roberts told viewers before the network later corrected the mistake on-air once they realized it was actually Martin. And somehow, it happened all over again during Trump’s hush money trial in 2024.
The visual similarity, amplified by Melania's absence from the trial, reportedly caused confusion among both observers and journalists covering the proceedings.
Outside politics, Martin keeps her personal life mostly private, though fans have linked her romantically to former lacrosse player Brock Sorensen after friends teased their relationship online as a “hard launch.” She’s also known for sharing behind-the-scenes photos featuring Trump, Karoline Leavitt and even Nicki Minaj on her personal Instagram page.
Martin has not commented publicly on the ongoing comparisons to Melania Trump — but the attention has made her one of the more recognizable figures in the current White House communications operation.
