'Trump Saved 8 AI-Generated People': Iran Officials Slam President's Women Protester Claims
Following the failed peace talks between the U.S. and Iran in Pakistan's Islamabad, a fresh controversy has erupted involving President Donald Trump.
Trump claimed that he had intervened to save eight Iranian women from execution and shared what he said were pictures of the women in a post on Truth Social.
However, Iranian government officials disputed the claim, stating that the image Trump shared was AI-generated and that several of the women had already been free for weeks.
Iranian Embassies Respond to Donald Trump's Claims
The White House shares Donald Trump's Truth Social update on the eight Iranian women protesters.
On Tuesday, April 21, Trump wrote on Truth Social that Iran was "preparing to hang eight women" and asked Iranian officials to release them, adding, "Please do them no harm! Would be a great start to our negotiations!!!"
A day later on Wednesday, April 22, the White House shared the president's update on the eight Iranian women.
Trump wrote, “Very good news! I have just been informed that eight women protesters who were going to be executed tonight in Iran will no longer be killed.”
He said four would be immediately released while the other four would serve one month in custody.
Trump also thanked Iranian leaders for responding to his request.
However, Iranian officials challenged the authenticity of the president’s claims.
The Iranian Embassy of South Africa responded by reposting the White House announcement and writing, "Hurray, Trump saved 8 AI-generated people."
The Iranian Embassy in Sierra Leone also disputed the claims, writing, "Fact check: 4 of those 8 Iranian women Trump cited for hanging yesterday have been free for weeks."
The embassy added that the remaining women were not facing execution but were in custody awaiting trial on charges carrying prison sentences, not capital punishment.

They also claimed that Trump had lied when he said that 800 executions were carried out in Iran.
The embassy concluded, "Bottom line: Trump is a losing warmonger, a liar, and absolutely delulu."
Following this, social media users responded to the posts made by the Iranian embassies.
One user wrote, "Aww man! This was your big chance for negotiating something out of our demented president."
Another commented, “We demand proof from Donlando Trumpo regime of the baseless lies they utter so brazenly. We have learned they use our silence to spread more outrageous lies. Donaldo is con man.”
An individual stated, “The Epstein Class leader needs his dementia medication.”
The president was not the only one who faced scrutiny on social media.
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt also faced backlash for showing support to Trump on national television.

Karoline Leavitt speaks about Operation Epic Fury.
Leavitt recently appeared as a guest on Fox News's The Story with Martha MacCallum to discuss Trump's ceasefire extension and the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz.
When host Martha MacCallum asked about the eight Iranian women and human rights concerns in future negotiations, Leavitt said, "Well, first of all, Martha, only President Trump could save the lives of these eight beautiful Iranian women, who he has received direct word from the Iranian regime or what's left of it, that their lives are going to be spared."
She then described Trump as "a humanitarian at heart."
Leavitt's remarks drew criticism on social media. One user wrote, “This is just a blatant lie. Are there no consequences anymore? The Republican Party should be permanently banned after this.”
Another user claimed, “The images are AI, and Leavitt and Fox News are lost in the madness of Trump's make-believe!”
One individual commented, “Trump saves AI generated women. Lmfaoooo!!! The U.S. government is a never-ending skit.”
