Senator Elizabeth Warren has strongly criticized President Donald Trump's $1.77 billion Anti-Weaponization Fund, calling it “corruption on steroids.”

The fund was established on Monday, May 18, as part of a settlement agreement resolving Trump’s $10 billion lawsuit against the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) over leaked tax records.

Under the terms of the agreement, Trump received no personal financial payout, with the settlement capital redirected to compensate individuals who claim they were wrongfully investigated and prosecuted during former President Joe Biden's tenure.

Elizabeth Warren lashes out at Donald Trump’s Anti-Weaponization Fund.

Taking to her social media platform, Warren openly called out Trump’s newly announced Anti-Weaponization Fund.

While the Trump administration said that the fund would compensate people who were allegedly unfairly treated under Biden's rule, Warren believes it will only benefit Trump’s allies.

In a video shared on X, the Democratic leader accused Trump of misusing taxpayer money.

“Donald Trump is stealing your money. His Department of Justice (DOJ) just created a $1.8 billion [$1.77 billion] slush fund to give your taxpayer dollars to his political buddies. This level of corruption is truly staggering,” Warren said.

She added, “Trump sued his own IRS for $10 billion over the leak of his tax returns back during his first term.”

Warren further stated that Trump's “personal lawyers and his DOJ lawyers reached a sham settlement.”

Elaborating further, the senator said, “in exchange for dropping the case, Trump gets $1.8 billion to dole out to his buddies.”

Warren also claimed taxpayers’ “hard-earned money” could go to people “who attacked the Capitol on January 6th.”

Calling it “corruption on steroids,” the senator urged voters to help Democrats “win back power in November,” during the mid-term elections.

An X user reacts to Elizabeth Warren‘s comments regarding the Anti-Weaponization Fund.

Meanwhile, despite Warren’s attempt to warn people about the Anti-Weaponization Fund, the senator faced heavy backlash online.

While some internet users questioned the fund itself, many appeared more frustrated with Warren and the Democratic Party.

Several social media users accused Democrats of hypocrisy and government waste.

“The Democrats invented corruption to stay in power. Stop pushing your socialist ideology (favoring illegal immigration and handing out food/shelter for free) that led to Medicare and Medicaid being full of scum and waste!!!” one user wrote.

Another user added, “Says the party who stole billions of taxpayers’ money to open the border, fly in, and bus illegals all over the country, and pay to put them up in hotels. Free phones, debit cards, food stamps, health care. Lie, cheat, and steal. Shut your face traitor.”

Others demanded stronger action from Democrats instead of public criticism.

An individual stated, “Please, Elizabeth everyday Congress comes on here and talks about all the bad the rep and this admin is doing. We know we know! We need to hear what are u doing to stop it and when and how !!”

One even challenged Warren’s claims, saying, “President Trump did not create this slush fund, Liz. He dropped his lawsuits against the IRS ($10B) and Congress set $1.8B fund for SEC to stop the weaponization of Gov. As In Jan 6, & more. You are not understanding this, Liz.”
