The White House Called Trump and King Charles 'Two Kings' — Gavin Newsom Had a Very Different Caption in Mind
California Governor Gavin Newsom has often publicly called out President Donald Trump. He has, time and again, criticized Trump's policies and shared his disapproval on his social media. The same happened recently after Trump posted a photo of himself with King Charles III.
After the White House posted a photo of Trump and King Charles captioned "Two Kings," Newsom responded sharply on social media. Newsom's press office proposed a different caption for the White House post on X showing Trump alongside King Charles.
Reposting the image, Newsom wrote, “One is the King of the U.K. And the other is the King of B-------”.
The White House post had captioned the Trump and King Charles' image with “TWO KINGS.”
The president has previously mocked Newsom and questioned his fitness for office. According to the BBC, Trump questioned Newsom's fitness for office while referencing his dyslexia.
Trump's comment on 60 Minutes interview and tussle with Newsom
Trump's 60 Minutes interview drew significant criticism on social media. During the interview with reporter Norah O’Donnell, Trump's comments to the female journalist initiated widespread discussion. Trump addressed the "Two Kings" label in the interview, telling O'Donnell, "I'm not a king. If I was a king, I wouldn't be dealing with you", as reported by The Daily Beast.
Newsom's wife, Siebel Newsom, shared her disapproval of the language Trump used for the female reporter and called him out on X. She wrote, “Seeing a president speak to a woman journalist with that level of contempt — and a clear allergy to facts — is disturbing, though at this point not unexpected given his pattern of behavior.”
"The problem with how women are treated in society starts at the top. In this case, with President Trump. Because when that level of disrespect from the highest office in the country repeats itself, it starts to trickle down into our culture and define what power looks like,” Siebel Newsom explained.
The interview aired the day after the White House Correspondents' Dinner shooting, according to reports. During the interview, he slammed the reporter for her question related to Jeffrey Epstein and said, “Excuse me, excuse me. I’m not a pedophile. You read that cr-p from some sick person? I got associated with old stuff that has nothing to do with me. I was totally exonerated. You shouldn’t be reading that on 60 Minutes. You’re a disgrace. You’re disgraceful.”
Trump often refers to the California governor by the derogatory nickname 'Newscum'.
Trump called Gavin Newsom a 'low-IQ person'
Trump referred to Newsom as "dumb" and used a derogatory play on his surname. Speaking at the Oval Office, he launched an attack on the governor and said, “With a low IQ person, you know, because Gavin New---- has admitted that he is a, that he has learning disabilities. The President of the United States, Gavin New----, admitted that he has learning disabilities, dyslexia. Everything about him is dumb.”
Consequently, the National Center for Learning Disabilities responded, saying it was "disturbed by and strongly condemn[s] the remarks."
