The White House, on Wednesday, May 20, celebrated President Donald Trump’s indictment of former Cuban President Raúl Castro by sharing a post on the social media platform X.

The post had Trump’s picture above the likes of Castro, former Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro, the late Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, and Islamic State leader Abu-Bilal al-Minuki.

However, the post appeared to have backfired as many social media users who were quick to troll Trump over the graphic.

The White House marked Raúl Castro's indictment by sharing a graphic on "Enemies of America."

According to a report by The Conversation, the Department of Justice (DOJ) has officially indicted Raúl Castro.

Charges against the former Cuban president involved the Cuban military allegedly shooting down two unarmed civilian planes, which were said to be operated by the Brothers to the Rescue in 1996.

This comes amid increasing U.S. pressure on the Cuban government.

Following Castro's indictment, the president called it a historic day for the Cuban people in his latest media interaction.

Donald Trump speaks about Raúl Castro's indictment.

However, despite the White House highlighting Trump’s prowess on “neutralizing” America’s enemies on X, not all social media users were impressed.

One X user wrote, “That’s not justice, that’s terrorism. You guys need to be in jail for what you are doing.”

Another user added, “Donald Trump is satanic.” An individual commented, “Yet you freely let foreign money influence America’s primaries. You became the literal thing that you swore to uproot and destroy.”

A person took a dig at the Trump administration by bringing up the Jeffrey Epstein case. The user wrote, “So, when will the Epstein’s victims get justice?”

Referring to Trump’s claim of striking a deal with Iran to put an end to the ongoing war, one user stated, “Great timing to brag about the death of Iran’s religious leader when you are supposed to make a deal. Unless you do not want a deal.”

“I think justice will be served only when Epstein’s pals are awaiting charges to rot in prison,” commented another.

While interacting with a group of reporters before presumably boarding Air Force One on Wednesday, May 20, Trump spoke about Castro’s indictment.

The president was heard saying, “We have Cuba on our mind, very important. There were a lot of problems for many years, and I think that this was a very big moment for not only Cuban Americans but people who came from Cuba, people who want to go back to Cuba, and people who wish to see their families in Cuba.”

Netizens took a dig at Trump's statement, as one user said, “Trump weighing in on Castro? Suddenly, he cares about foreign policy now that he’s got legal troubles of his own.”
