Savannah Will Be Greeted With ‘Love and Support’: Michael Levine
Savannah Guthrie visited Studio 1A earlier this month to meet her co-workers.
According to a report by The Mirror, sources close to Savannah have suggested that she could return to host the Today show in April 2026. Michael Levine, a media expert, has mentioned that Savannah’s return after several weeks might lead to an extremely delicate situation.
Levine claimed that the people of the country would warmly greet her with “love and passionate support.” He added that the country will root for her “not out of curiosity, but out of compassion.” Levine stated that Savannah is not just another broadcaster, but rather a familiar, trusted face in countless American homes.
“When someone so visible carries private pain into public life, the audience instinctively leans in with empathy,” Levine said. The media expert then highlighted the “extraordinary opportunity” and responsibilities that fell on the shoulders of her colleagues, and said that they do not have to do any grand gestures, but support her with their constant presence.
Levine opined that TV reflects humanity at its best, and added that Savannah’s co-hosts must manage to practise solidarity without exploiting her vulnerability. He suggested that they should not only lead with kindness, but also support her. If they manage to do so, it would elevate the entire broadcast, he said.
“Viewers are far more perceptive than we sometimes give them credit for. They know the difference between sincerity and showmanship,” Levine noted, suggesting that the sensitive situation must be “handled with care” as Savannah’s return will be about “resilience, dignity and the enduring power of human connection.”
