'Sardonic Parody': RFK Jr. Trolled for Blasting Jimmy Kimmel Based on Stephen Colbert Parody Post
Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has found himself at the center of online mockery after publicly mistaking an elaborate, satirical social media thread for an authentic insider's critique of the television industry.
Kennedy Jr. attempted to use a parody video about the retirement of CBS’s The Late Show with Stephen Colbert to launch a scathing attack on "liberal comedy" and Jimmy Kimmel only for it to backfire when internet users pointed out that the X post the cabinet official was referring to was a satire.
'Turned a Comedian Into a Priest'
A satirical post on CBS' 'The Late Show.'
On Saturday, May 23, Peter Girnus, a parody account on X, posted a LEGO video about Colbert posing as “the Senior Vice President of Late Night Strategy at CBS.”
In the post, he stated that he “turned a comedian into a priest” and even charged advertisers to watch the congregation.
The post added, “We didn't sell jokes. We sold certainty. Certainty costs nothing to produce. People will pay anything for it.”
The post also mentioned that he invented a new metric rate called the Affirm Rate, which measured the percentage of “monologue segments that generated applause instead of laughter.”
Interestingly, the account claimed that they chose a side because they “believed in it.”
Girnus stated that while Democrats chose to respond to “correction,” Republicans responded to “provocation,” which is “harder to monetize."
“Fighting is unpredictable. Correction is scheduled,” the post further read.

Kennedy Jr. shared this viral post on X, calling it “Superb dissection of the shocking collapse of liberal comedy.”
He remarked that the post cleverly explained that “we've reached the nader where Late Night host Jimmy Kimmel can say ‘It’s not my job to be funny.’”
“As this author shows, he was hired as a comedian but he made himself a priest,” Kennedy Jr. added.

Another user added, “Peter Girnus is sardonic parody. Quote him at your own risk.”
An individual stated, “Bottom line, your priest and church doesn’t do it anymore. You had a hand in making Trump seem like Hitler and that has damaged our country more than I’ve ever imagined.”
“Sure, if delusional and self-serving is your thing. Never mind, it is,” wrote one user.
An individual noted, “Bobby, Hope you know ‘Peter Girnus' is a parody X account. Just FYI.”
“You are about as qualified to comment about comedy as you are about health,” stated another.
