On March 23, Carpenter performed a set at the Estéreo Picnic Festival in Bogota, Colombia. However, she paused mid-performance and used an oxygen canister to help her breathe as she was not used to the city’s high altitude.

Attendees shared footage of the stage moment that has since gone viral on social media platforms. In the video clip, Carpenter is seen seated on the stage, breathing from a portable oxygen tank. She appeared to be considerably recovered after using the canister.

Others noted that the altitude change affected the pop star's breathing. "It's also the fact that she obviously has constant rehearsals, many presentations, a body can't function normally under those conditions. You just have to investigate a little what altitude does to the human body," said one person on Instagram.

Hence, the shift to Bogota's altitude can be physically challenging.

This difference can trigger symptoms of altitude sickness, which helps explain why even seasoned performers like Carpenter might briefly need oxygen support while adjusting during a show at the Colombian capital.
