‘Remarkable Timing’: Candace Owens Links Charlie Kirk's Assassination to Hidden Will Change Plans
Conservative commentator Candace Owens has sparked fresh controversy after insinuating that Charlie Kirk's final will may be tied to his assassination.
The right-wing political activist was assassinated on September 10, 2025.
However, Owens appears entirely focused on uncovering what she characterizes as a deeper, hidden motive behind the murder.
During a recent episode of her podcast, Owens spoke about how Charlie had planned to update his end-of-life documents on September 15, 2025 -- just five days after his assassination.
'Where's the Proof?'
Candace Owens discusses Charlie Kirk’s assassination.
On an episode of the Candace Owens Podcast, Owens stated that “something isn’t adding up” about Charlie's assassination.
Claiming to have proof of possible hidden motives behind his death, which she didn't share with audiences, Owens noted that Charlie and his wife Erika Kirk were about to update the former's will on September 15.
Owens noted that Erika had informed people in her circle about her husband's plans.
“In weeks following Charlie's assassination, she [Erika] shared with people that Charlie and her were due to sign updated end-of-life documents on September 15th… the Monday after he died. That's remarkable timing,” the podcast host said.
Owens also hinted that the Kirks were going through a rough patch in their marriage just before Charlie's death, which may have prompted him to change his will.
However, while Owens tried to connect the dots, netizens didn't seem to be too convinced. Instead, critics accused her of making dramatic claims without sharing any evidence.
One X user commented, “Are you talking about a will, Candace? Like it happens in America every single day with married couples. Do you have a will, Candace?”
Others joined the argument, with one user stating, “Why would Charlie take Erika with him if he was cutting her out of his will? How stupid do you think we are? When the priest becomes a witness in her lawsuit against you and confirms he was called over to pray for his safety, you'll be paying Erika for the rest of your life.”
“I couldn’t imagine being stupid enough to believe this without a single solitary thing to back this up. You gotta be eligible for the special Olympics with that kind of intelligence,” added another.
An individual asked, “Where's the proof? Do you believe things just because somebody says them out here?”
A few netizens even tried to educate Owens on potential defamation lawsuits.
“Repeating a baseless murder-for-money plot is ‘defamation per se,’ and under the republication rule, tale-bearers are sued just like tale-makers. Monetizing this with a fundraiser is textbook reckless disregard too. It's a courtroom trap,” one user noted.
Charlie Kirk's Former Security Chief Sues Candace Owens for Defamation
Meanwhile, Owens is already facing a lawsuit regarding her comments surrounding Charlie's death.
According to The New York Times, the former security chief for Charlie sued Owens on Thursday, April 30, for defamation. He accused her of insinuating that he conspired to assassinate Charlie.
Identified as Brian Harpole, the security chief claimed that Owens falsely accused him of meeting with Erika at a military base, just a day before Charlie was killed at Utah Valley University.
In the 69-page lawsuit, Harpole accused Owens of “engaging in a coordinated and deliberate campaign designed to defame” him.
The lawsuit was filed in federal court in Nashville, where Harpole urged Owens to remove the defamatory statements from her podcast and social media and provide financial damages.
Harpole’s lawyer, Matthew Sarelson said on X that he and his client “will not be providing any other statements.”
