President Donald Trump shared a second AI-generated image on Truth Social that depicted himself alongside Jesus Christ, just days after deleting a similar post that drew widespread criticism and prompted a response from Pope Leo XIV.

Trump had previously said that the post he shared initially was a misunderstanding before deleting it.

Quite similar to the previous one, the president's recent post also sparked criticism from social media users.

An X user shares Donald Trump's latest Truth Social post involving the picture of Jesus Christ.

On Wednesday, April 15, Trump reshared an AI-generated image on Truth Social showing him being embraced by Jesus Christ, with a holy light and the American flag in the background.

The original post read, "I was never a very religious man .. but doesn't it seem, with all these satanic, demonic, child sacrificing monsters being exposed… that G-d might be playing his Trump card!"

Resharing it on his Truth Social account, Trump wrote that supporters of the Democratic Party — whom he called "The Radical Left Lunatics" — might not like the image, adding, "But I think it is quite nice!!!"

According to The Guardian, Pope Leo said that he would continue to criticize Trump over his posts while maintaining that the church would stay out of politics.

"I will continue to speak strongly against war, seeking to promote peace, dialogue and multilateralism among states to find solutions to problems," the pope said.

"I'm not afraid of the Trump administration or speaking out loudly of the message of the gospel, which is what I believe I am here to do, what the church is here to do," the leader of the Catholic Church said.

Vice President JD Vance defended Trump's actions, as he claimed that the latter's post was just "a joke."

Christian activist Sean Feucht, however, expressed his disapproval on X, as he wrote, "This should be deleted immediately. There's no context where this is acceptable."

Netizens React to Donald Trump's New Truth Social Post

Trump's post drew criticism from social media users, with a number of netizens calling out the president over his posts.

One user wrote, "The photo shows him being embraced by a doctor." Another wrote, "This is really gross."

An individual stated, "Trump's Operation Embracing Fantasy just keeps getting better."

One user noted, "Look, as a Christian, I'm still offended by this. He's literally putting himself as g-d in that picture from before, that's blasphemy, he could just apologize this time."

Another user claimed, "Trump has to give his life to Christ and publicly declare himself to be Christian. Posting images of himself with Jesus doesn't do that."
