Now, nearly 100 years after her birth, personal items belonging to the actress are being auctioned.

Scheduled to be held between June 1 and June 4, the auction will feature deeply personal artefacts belonging to Monroe, including psychiatric reports, handwritten notes, letters, and hidden messages found inside film scripts.

Julien's Auctions shares an X post about the upcoming auction to mark the 100th birth anniversary of Marilyn Monroe.

While the auction has been organized to pay tribute to the late legend, the event seems to be selling some of the most unique things belonging to Monroe.

Featuring 190 items linked to the Hollywood icon, collectors are now bidding thousands of dollars for them.

The listing seems to include everything from evening gowns, personal letters and film scripts to used makeup, medical documents and items from her home.

So far, the highest bid in the auction stands at $20,000 for a Jeanne Lanvin evening gown once owned by the late actress.

Monroe’s 1950s hand weights are listed in the auction, which are being sold for $25, while her kitchenware is listed at $200.

The auction listing also includes a ceramic bathroom tile from her previous home in the Brentwood, Los Angeles, listed at $1,000.

Monroe’s 1962 front gates from her fifth Helena Drive home are listed at a staggering $4,000, while a pelvic X-ray from 1954 is priced at $1,250.

Meanwhile, a chest X-ray from the same year, showing Monroe’s spine, partial ribcage, and outline of her br**sts is currently listed at $2,250.

In addition, the auction also lists two more X-rays from 1952, reportedly showing the late actress’ large intestines and gallbladder.

'You can Feel the Anguish in Her Writing'

Brian Chanes, senior director of Hollywood and entertainment at Heritage Auctions, during a preview of the collection on Friday, May 8, spoke about how the never-before-seen documents are set to shed light on Monroe’s personal life.

Chanes said, “Marilyn is just an icon. People love and adore Marilyn to this day.”

“It’s really special because this isn’t material ‌that’s been bought and sold over the decades. This is something that’s a discovery,” Chanes stated, reflecting on how the documents explore the late legend's romantic relationships, fears surrounding a lost pregnancy which led to the chest X-rays, and her reflections on mortality.

“Right before she was about to overdose and they had to halt filming, she wrote, ‘I feel like I’m drowning’. You can feel the anguish in her writing,” Chanes added.
