The White House has undergone several changes under the tenure of President Donald Trump.

Earlier this month, the president shared plans for construction of a White House ballroom, which will be built over a nuke-proof military bunker.

However, a federal judge has ordered Trump to halt construction of the planned ballroom and underground bunker until congressional authorization is obtained.

This prompting the president to publicly criticize the ruling and defend the $400 million project on national security grounds.

A news update on Judge Richard Leon blocking Donald Trump's White House renovation.

According to a report by The Sun, District Judge Richard Leon ordered construction to stop on both the above-ground ballroom and the bomb-resistant bunker planned beneath it, saying, "National security is not a blank cheque to proceed with otherwise unlawful activity."

The White House was sued by the National Trust for Historic Preservation over plans to replace the East Wing with a new ballroom.

Trump immediately criticized the “out of control” decision which ordered the $400 million project to stop.

Trump said that the ballroom was "needed now," arguing that without it, the underground bunker would be "useless" because it is designed to be built beneath the ballroom.

He said the two components are "wedded to" each other and "tied together as one big, expensive, and very complex unit."

Trump said that the renovation is necessary for U.S. security and military operations.

He said the upper section would include a modern hospital with state-of-the-art medical facilities and "top secret military installations," while the bunker would be constructed from "missile resistant steel," with "drone proof ceilings and roofs" and "bullet, ballistic, and blast proof glass."

The president also claimed that people inside the bunker would stay protected from any possible threat.

Donald Trump Criticizes Decision

The Sun report also stated that the president accused Leon of being "Trump hating" and described him as an "out of control" Washington, D.C., district court judge.

He said the ruling "severely jeopardizes the lives and wellbeing" of those who work at the White House and argued that Leon was "attempting to prevent future Presidents and World Leaders from having a safe and secure large scale Meeting Place."

The president also previously addressed reporters on the project, saying, "The military is building a big complex under the ballroom, which has come out recently because of a stupid lawsuit that was filed."
