'Pathetic': Kamala Harris Faces Online Backlash Over Deep South Tour Plans
Kamala Harris has found herself under fire after announcing plans to swing through four Democratic Party events in the Deep South in April.
Harris, who is expected to run for President in the 2028 elections, will visit North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, and Arkansas. According to a message sent by the former Vice President's campaign, her trips to the southern states will serve as an opportunity to "uplift Democrats and continue building our power in the South." Her appearances will also help raise funds for those state parties.
CNN reports that Harris will first attend fundraisers for the North Carolina, South Carolina, and Georgia state parties in the week starting April 13. She will then deliver a keynote address at the Arkansas Democrats' annual Fisher Shackelford Dinner in Little Rock on April 25. A person with inside knowledge told the news outlet that she might make similar stops through the summer and fall.

Social Media Users Slam Kamala Harris's Southern Swing Plans
The announcement about Harris' upcoming Southern swing did not sit well with many users on social media. Netizens slammed the decision, expressing their disapproval of Harris as a possible Presidential candidate.
One user took to the comments section of a post on X, formerly Twitter, and expressed his frustration with Harris. "She's literally the reason we have the administration we do today," they wrote, adding, "As VP, she was part of the WORST PRESIDENTIAL ADMINISTRATION in US HISTORY. Democrats failed the USA by allowing nobody to challenge Biden, then she was installed when Biden was deemed incompetent."
"When you have no clue how to help run a country, how to talk to your INDEPENDENT constituents that affect every election, and spew the garbage that is against what those same people support, then you will FAIL," the person said. "I'm tired of people like her being put up front. She is PATHETIC, deserves no platform after failure, and shows how damaged the Democrat Party is for allowing her to speak or think that she knows what Americans want," the user concluded.

A second person said, "She is a totally clueless person that would have been an unmitigated disaster for America if they had been able to install her as President. Thank goodness she was so bad they couldn't cheat her in."
Other social media users questioned Harris's touring the country on taxpayers' funds. "Taxpayer money is Monopoly money to the California leadership," said one user. Many others mirrored the same sentiment in their tweets. "[expletive] has been traveling the country on California taxpayers dime paying for her security. @KamalaHarris shame on you!" wrote someone else.
"Kamala really needs to step aside and stop milking her so called book tour. She making money all while it's literally costing us as taxpayers," commented a fifth user.
For context, Harris is reaching the end of a six-month tour to promote her memoir of the 2024 campaign, which was released last September. During the trip, California Highway Patrol officers were shadowing Harris, even when overseas. The former VP and Cal. Gov. Gavin Newsom's administration has not shared details about the costs of that security.
Harris, who lost the 2024 White House run, has not confirmed her 2028 Presidential run yet. Her visit could also result in bolstering support among the Southern black voters, who make up a crucial constituency in the Democratic Party.
