A recent poll revealed that a significant number of people believed Donald Trump's Iran war is a way to distract the public from the Jeffrey Epstein case.
'Operation Epstein Fury': Trump's Alleged Ties to Disgraced Financier Back in the Spotlight
Speculations regarding President Donald Trump's alleged ties with Jeffrey Epstein are back in the public eye.
A March 2026 poll found that 52 percent of voters believe that Trump launched Operation Epic Fury against Iran partly to divert public attention from the Epstein case.
This has garnered fresh public backlash directed at the Trump administration for its alleged mishandling the Epstein files.
'A Deliberate Distraction'
An X post shows the Donald J. Trump and Jeffrey Epstein Memorial Reading Room in New York City.
Earlier this year, the Department of Justice (DOJ) released approximately three million pages of Epstein-related documents.
The Trump administration has faced ongoing criticism over its handling of the full release of the aforementioned files.
The March 2026 poll, conducted by Zeteo, found that 52 percent of voters believed the Iran conflict was launched to distract the public from Epstein-related questions. Among Democratic voters, 81 percent agreed the war was "a deliberate distraction."
Among independent voters, 52 percent said that they believed the conflict was intended to sideline scrutiny of Trump's connections to the late s*x offender.
The report also noted that posters appearing across Washington, D.C., referred to Operation Epic Fury as "Operation Epstein Fury."
One poster featured an image of Cody Khork, an American service member killed in the conflict, with the words, "Cody Khork did not have to die fighting Iran for the Epstein class."
'The View' co-host Whoopi Goldberg believes that Donald Trump's Iran war is intended to distract the public from the Jeffrey Epstein and Nancy Guthrie cases..
During an episode of ABC's The View, co-host Whoopi Goldberg had said that she agreed the Iran conflict may be shifting focus from the Epstein files, calling the developments "nutty as h***."
She added that the war was meant to "get us so worked up that we are unable to see anything else."
According to a report by The Telegraph, former Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene said the Epstein files should be fully released and those implicated should face accountability.
She stated, "Instead, we get a war with Iran on behalf of Israel that will succeed in regime change in Iran."
Chris Edelson, a lecturer at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, said it was "certainly possible" that the conflict was timed to distract from Epstein scrutiny.
"What we have seen in the files is shocking stuff related to Trump," Edelson said.
He said the administration had passed legislation to release the files publicly but "kept back some of the most damning stuff."
Donald Trump’s Defamation Lawsuit Against 'The Wall Street Journal'
According to the Tallahassee Democrat, U.S. District Judge Darrin Gayles ruled that Trump's attorneys could not use the legal process to seek evidence from The Wall Street Journal to support a defamation claim.
In April this year, Gayles dismissed a $10 billion defamation lawsuit stemming from a Wall Street Journal article that reported Epstein received a letter signed by Trump for his 50th birthday in 2003.
In the April order, Gayles said Trump's accusations were "conclusory and without factual support," but added that he would allow Trump another opportunity to plead the case.
The judge did not weigh in on whether Trump had written the letter.
