Former President Barack Obama has now been dragged into a controversy related to Star Wars actor Mark Hamill.

After the actor posted an AI-generated image of President Donald Trump lying in a grave, the White House is now asking Obama to take a stand.

The AI image was posted by the actor on Bluesky on Wednesday, May 6, and showed Trump lying in a shallow grave with his eyes closed. The post was captioned, "if only."

He also wrote that Trump “should live long enough to witness his inevitable devastating loss in the midterms, be held accountable for his unprecedented corruption, impeached, convicted & humiliated for his countless crimes.”

While the actor has deleted the AI image, the White House has asked Obama to "condemn" the photo.

In a statement to Fox News, White House spokesman Davis Ingle called on Obama and said, "Barack Hussein Obama just appeared in a video with this deranged lunatic three days ago. Now this same person is calling for President Trump to die. Why won’t Obama and Democrats condemn this disgusting call to violence?"

The 74-year-old actor has been a strong critic of Trump and his policies. He has often used social media to criticize him on various issues.

However, the actor's followers believe that the image was meant as dark satire and not a threat.

This has particularly drawn backlash as it comes days after the third assassination attempt against the president during the White House Correspondents' Association dinner.

Mark Hamill Deletes Post After Backlash

This kind of rhetoric is exactly what has inspired three assassination attempts in two years against our President."
