‘Not Speaking for the UK’: Trump Bluntly Dismisses Prince Harry’s Latest Ukraine Remarks
Prince Harry is back in headlines right after his much-talked about Australia trip.
A recent speech made by Harry in Ukraine, the country he is presently visiting, has drawn a response from President Donald Trump.
Trump dismissed Harry's comments, saying that the prince was "not speaking for the U.K.," and sent regards to Harry's wife, Meghan Markle, when asked about the matter at a White House press conference.
Donald Trump Responds to Prince Harry's Comments
During a press conference at the White House, a reporter asked Trump about Harry’s recent remarks during the latter's visit to Ukraine and whether they they were appropriate for a member of the British royal family, ahead of King Charles III's state visit to the United States.
Responding to the question, Trump said, “I know one thing, Prince Harry is not speaking for the U.K., that’s for sure. I think I am speaking for the U.K. more than Prince Harry.”

However, the president mentioned that he appreciated Harry's advice and asked reporters, "How's he doing? How's his wife? Please give her my regards."
Trump also expressed enthusiasm about the upcoming dinner with Charles, saying, "If I had that ballroom built, it would be filled. I wish we had more seats."
He said he would enjoy hosting the royal family, and called them "great people."
Trump's remarks came in response to Harry's speech during a surprise visit to Ukraine.
According to Express UK, Harry praised Ukraine for its “brave” resistance against Russia and addressed President Vladimir Putin directly.
"President Putin, no nation benefits from the continued loss of life we are witnessing," Harry said. He said Putin had spent "years into this war" resulting in significant casualties and limited gains on either side.
Without naming Trump, Harry said he had a message for "American leadership," noting that the United States had a "singular role" in the Ukraine-Russia conflict.
The Duke of Sussex stated that when Ukraine agreed to relinquish its nuclear arsenal, the United States had pledged to protect its borders and sovereignty.
He said this gave the U.S. an opportunity to honor its "international treaty obligations — not out of charity, but out of its enduring role in global security and strategic stability."

During a telephonic interview with the BBC, Trump was asked if Charles’ visit to the United States could help repair relations with the U.K.
To this, the president replied, “Absolutely. He's fantastic. He's a fantastic man. Absolutely the answer is yes.”
"I know him well, I've known him for years," he added, calling Charles "a brave and great man."
Trump briefly addressed his strained relationship with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, saying that the ties could recover if Starmer changes his stance on immigration.
"But if he doesn't, I don't think he has a chance," the president said.
Trump also criticized the United Kingdom's lack of military involvement in the Iran conflict, saying, "I didn't need them at all but they should've been there. I didn't need them, obviously." He said his call for British support was "more of a test."
