Erika stated that Charlie always encouraged people to marry "not rushed, but young," and to adhere to familial duties.

The TPUSA CEO added, “He (Charlie) would also say have more children than you can afford.”

Erika concluded her remarks by discussing the status of the United States. She said that while the country is not flawless, it is the "greatest nation."

She told graduates to prioritize long-term commitment and discipline over personal comfort. "If you want to make a difference in the world, it is very hard to do that when you look just like it," she said.

An X post highlights Erika Kirk's advice to Hillsdale College graduates to marry young.

While the audience inside the venue provided a standing ovation, social media users on X and other platforms were quite critical of Erika's speech.

Some users called out Erika's "hypocrisy" and noted that she was in her mid-30s when she married Charlie, suggesting a conflict between her personal life and her advice to marry young.

One user wrote, “She was 34 when she got married. It’s one more bit of the Erika Kirk hypocrisy.” Another user pointed out, “Like she did, oh wait.”

An individual stated, “Its none of her business when people should get married.”

Taking a dig at Erika, one user commented, “Taking advice from someone with a twisted moral compass is a total disaster waiting to happen.”

An X user wrote, “She did not and still is not following the teachings of Charlie. She is just a profiteer.”

Outside the campus, a group of protesters gathered to demonstrate against the ideologies of TPUSA and Charlie's previous statements regarding education and family.
