Prince Harry and Meghan Markle met with the survivors and emergency responders from Bondi beach shooting on Friday, April 17. On the fourth day of their privately funded Australian tour, the couple visited the beach in Sydney, where, a terror attack last December killed 15 and injured 45, reported the BBC.

Markle wore a blue-and-white striped shirt, white jeans, trainers and completed the look with a suede bag. All the items are listed for sale in the AI-driven shopping site OneOff. According to the Daily Mail, she receives between 10% and 25% of the proceeds and is also an investor in the site.

Many observes note, the move was 'sick'. Several people online condemned her for turning a 'massacre site to an online shopping mall.'

Speaking of the move, royal commentator Richard Palmer described it as, "the starkest example yet of Harry and Meghan’s efforts to commercialize their royal brand." He said it could also "have alarm bells ringing at the palace and may ultimately prompt further discussion about whether there is a need to strip them of their royal titles.

The palace can say it’s nothing to do with the institution because Harry and Meghan aren’t publicly-funded members of it – but they are the King’s son and daughter-in-law, and any suggestion of cashing in on royal status reflects badly on the monarchy."

People are Criticizing Meghan Markle

Markle drew criticism from social media as many believed this move was disrespectful to the lost souls. One user on X said, " Harry and Meghan Markle met the Bondi Beach survivors to SELL CLOTHES!!!! It's grotesque!"

Another comment read, "No longer content to be merely a tragedy tourist, Markle uploads photos of her comforting survivors of the Bondi Beach Massacre to OneOff, where she merches her clothes. This isn't mere bad taste - it's pathology."

During their time with the survivors, the coupe reportedly spoke to survivor Jessica Chapnik Kahn, who protected her 5-year-old daughter during the attack. Kahn said it was an 'honor' to meet them. However, that hasn't stopped scrutiny from users online.

Markle has been the subject of online criticism previously as well. Reports allege, many British media outlets have attempted to pay people to lie about her. In her current trip, Markle has addressed internet abuse saying, "she was the most trolled person in the entire world." She also said online spaces are "completely anchored and predicated on cruelty to get clicks."

Taking a shot at her remarks and business move, one user on X wrote, "She is disgusting and wonders why she was ‘the most trolled person in the entire world."

Earlier in the tour, Markle drew criticism for wearing an outfit reportedly valued at over $100,000 to a children's hospital and women's shelter. One critic commented on X, "Yep, nothing like making those homeless women feel comfortable around you by not shoving your money in their faces, is there?"
