A MAGA loyalist was left fuming when his endearing gesture for his wife not only failed, but also left her in tears after the Donald Trump-branded watch he gifted her was found with an embarrassing typographical error.
According to a report by NBC10, the MAGA fan, named Tim Petit and hailing from Middletown, Rhode Island, decided to gift his wife, Melanie, a pink limited-edition Trump-themed watch from GetTrumpWatches.com valued at $640.
'An Apology Would Be Nice'

when the watch arrived, the couple were extremely disappointed to witness that instead of the word “TRUMP” on the face of the watch, the dial prominently read “RUMP.”
“I’m very disappointed," a dejected Tim said, adding, "I wanted to do a special thing for her. And we expected that it would have the integrity of the President of the United States and good follow-through.”
Tim also demanded a formal apology for his wife from the manufacturing company, adding, “An apology would be nice for making my wife cry.”
Reportedly, after being contacted by the news outlet, the company apologized to the couple, revealing that they are ready to immediately replace the watch and will provide an $800 coupon as a goodwill gesture.
The Rhode Island resident revealed that he decided to purchase the Trump-themed timepiece for his wife after hearing the president's “voice hawking the watches” on a radio advertisement.
Promotional material on the company’s website features Trump flaunting the watches and declaring, “It’s Trump Time.” However, internet users quickly seized the opportunity to troll both the president and his MAGA fan after hearing about the bizarre faux pas.

Reportedly, a watchdog group revealed in May 2026 that The Trump Store—the official retail website of the Trump organization—has sold more than 600 items since Trump began his second term in office.
