X post on ticket sales of the Obama Presidential Center Museum.

According to the Obama Foundation’s website, tickets to the general public will be made available from May 6. However, the founding members will enjoy early access to the tickets from April 21, 2026.

The website stated that once the ticket sales open, individuals can either purchase their tickets at the front desk of the museum or purchase them online.

The website also mentioned that purchasing the tickets offline will depend on the availability of the tickets. It stated, “If you plan on buying your tickets in-person, please be advised that our in-person ticket inventory and online ticket inventory are the same.”

While the tickets will be limited, the website will provide access to all four levels of the museum, including the Oval Office and the Sky Room. The tickets will not be free to the visitors, and they have to pay in advance if they buy them online. Here’s the official pricing of the tickets:

1. Adult (ages 12 and above): $30

2. Adult (Illinois resident): $26

3. Child (ages 3-11): $23

4. Child (ages 3-11, Illinois resident): $15

5. Children (ages 2 and under): Free

The website also mentions that residents of Illinois must provide proof of residency for the discount, and they must provide the proof of residency at the museum as well, with a “valid photo ID, Illinois driver’s license, state ID, or city-issued ID.”

The website suggests that group booking must be done in advance and must ensure coordinated travel because of the timed tickets. Moreover, Illinois residents will receive free entry to the Obama Presidential Center Museum every Tuesday.

Public Reaction to Ticket Pricing

Ahead of tickets going on sale, social media users expressed a range of reactions to the pricing. One user wrote, “Many have been waiting for this forever, the Obama legacy up close!” Another commented, “Just became a founding member! Hopefully, I can get tickets for the grand opening!”

A third user stated, “Definitely adding this to my must-visit list. History in the making.” One individual added, “I want Obama to be president once again to fix the problem.”

However, some social media users objected to the $30 admission price. One commented, “We have to BUY [expletive] tickets?”

Another user chimed in, “You demand ID and $30 per ticket to get into your [expletive] library but it's racist to ask for proof of citizenship to vote in federal elections?? Make that make sense.” One individual stated, “I'll never go. Failed President - started the racial tensions in this country. Ugly building.”
