Laura Harrier was recently spotted at an event during Paris Fashion Week for David Yurman. Harrier, who is an ambassador for the jewelry brand, attended a party in honor of the launch of its Parisian flagship store.
The actress wore a white crochet dress, which she paired with black sandals, a simple black handbag, gold dangly earrings and stacked bracelets. The simple but elegant look was also complemented by her natural makeup which consisted of a neutral eye, mascara, a matte mauve lip and a full brow.
The crochet dress is reminiscent of the popularized designs of African-American designer Gigi Hunter. Hunter is best known for her custom crochet dresses back in the '90s and early '00s. Her designs have been worn by Jada Pinkett Smith, Beyoncé, and most notably, Zendaya. Zendaya, who costarred alongside Harrier in Spider-Man: Homecoming, wore the crochet gown for the 50th anniversary Essence magazine cover, which pa homage to supermodel Donyale Luna.
As fashion lovers are seeing the return of crochet, it is impossible to think of the trend without mentioning Hunter. Along with wearing a knitted bodycon to the David Yurman store, The BlacKkKlansman star has been sharing additional snippets from her trip with her followers. In a recent post, the model shared a photo of herself smiling while attending a different event for David Yurman at the Louvre Museum.
As fans are looking at her Instagram comments, they might wonder when Harrier's relationship with the iconic jeweler began. In May, she became an ambassador for the company, and she was a part of the "Come Closer" campaign alongside Kelsey Asbille and actor Lucien Laviscount. Along with being the face of David Yurman, she is also an ambassador for Parisian luxury brand Louis Vuitton.
