Lady Gaga Calls Off Montreal Show on Doctor’s Orders
Lady Gaga is devastated to cancel her Montreal show.
On April 6, Lady Gaga shared a post on her Instagram Stories (via X), apologizing to her fans because she is “unable to perform” and is forced to “cancel the show.” She took the unfavorable decision after her doctor “strongly advised” her not to perform at the Mayhem Ball show in Montreal.
The artist continued that she has been fighting a respiratory infection for the past couple of days and is taking every possible measure “to rest and recover.” She added, “I don’t think I could give you the quality of a performance today that you deserve.”
Gaga apologized to the fans and how “deeply disappointing” the entire scenario is for her fans. “I truly could not feel worse about letting you down. I’m so sorry to everyone who made plans to be there and support me. Being in Montreal and performing for you on Thursday and Friday was magical and deeply meaningful,” the Poker Face singer added.
She had just three dates left in her Mayhem Ball tour, which included shows in Saint Paul, Minnesota, this week. With no official statement from the singer, the shows are still on, and she will wrap her tour, returning to Madison Square Garden in NYC on April 13.
Fans Are Divided Over Lady Gaga’s Respiratory Infection
While the Judas singer is devastated by breaking down the news of cancelling the Montreal show, her fans rushed to support her, praying for her speedy recovery. A user wrote, “Hopefully Ms. @ladygaga will feel better soon. Spring pollen and allergies can facilitate respiratory infections. I'd be more than happy to make her a large pot of chicken soup and give her foot rubs.”
Another user wrote, “She has a case of poker face..... Wishing her a speedy recovery.” A third simply wrote, “Get well soon!” Another user quipped in, “Hold in there, LadyG.”
Disappointingly, her critics showed no remorse for her medical condition and bombarded her with insensitive comments. A user wrote, “How unfortunate. Was the contract with Satan up? He never accepts late payments.” Another wrote, “Her inner demon having a party.”
A third user commented, “Gaga is a demon; probably being eaten from the inside out!” Another user joked, “Lady gag gag.” Lastly, a user called her a “Satanic s***.” Though it has not been confirmed, the cancelled show in Montreal might be rescheduled to a later date, as the Miami show took place on a new date after it was cancelled.
