Kim Kardashian Has 'a Lot of Time to Mull It Over’ as She Delays Her Law Dreams Until 2027
Kim Kardashian will reportedly not sit for either of the 2026 California Bar examinations and plans to resume her efforts in 2027.
This comes after she failed to pass the examination in November 2025. However, it appears that she still remains committed to becoming a lawyer.
Kim Kardashian to Reportedly Skip 2026 California Bar Exams
Kardashian has been pursuing a law career for six years. She failed the November 2025 California Bar examination and announced the result publicly on Instagram.
According to TMZ, a source said Kardashian will not appear for the 2026 California Bar exams and is considering attempting again in 2027. The final deadline to register for the February 2027 exam is January 4, 2027.
The source added, “Kim has a lot of time to mull it over.”
After her 2025 result, Kardashian wrote on Instagram, "Six years into this law journey, and I'm still all in until I pass the bar. No shortcuts, no giving up — just more studying and even more determination."
Kardashian expressed gratitude to her supporters for encouraging her.
The SKIMS founder stated that she sees her failure in the 2025 California Bar examination as a fuel to motivate herself.
In the meantime, Kardashian continues to portray a lawyer on Ryan Murphy's All Fair.
'I Just Don’t Have the Time to Dwell'
In an interview with Time magazine, Kardashian had said that she needed time to process the disappointment after receiving her results. "I didn't feel good about it. I was really uncomfortable and not confident for a while," she said.
"You get the results on a Friday, and I knew Sunday morning they were going to be live on the internet. So I wanted to mention it first and let people know that it didn't go my way," Kardashian added.
She went on, “I'm pretty good at taking a failure and turning it into something and I just don't have the time to dwell.”
Kardashian added that she felt sorry for herself briefly before deciding, "I need to take that time and put it into studying more."

In November 2025, Kardashian shared an 8-minute video on Instagram documenting the two weeks of exam preparation. In the video, she said, "Every time I feel like I'm a step ahead, something happens to try to stop me."
She also wrote, "This dream means too much to me to walk away from, so I'm going to keep studying, keep learning, and keep showing up for myself until I get there."
