Kate Middleton Reportedly ‘Fuming’ as Meghan Markle Moves Ahead With Retreat Despite Guest Controversy
Tensions appear to be rising between Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle, as the Princess of Wales is reportedly 'fuming' that Markle is going ahead with her "Girls Weekend" retreat despite news of a particular attendee emerging.
RadarOnline reported Markle is set to host a $3,000-per-person "Her Best Life Retreat" in Sydney from April 17 to 19. The event is seen as part of a broader push for her lifestyle brand "As Ever." However, Middleton is reportedly unhappy that a certain social media influencer who promoted conspiracy theories about her, will be attending Markle's Australia retreat this weekend.
Reports suggest that members of the so-called Sussex Squad have claimed that they have tickets to the exclusive event. Among them is the Australian influencer @ZandiSussex, who had falsely claimed the princess was faking her cancer diagnosis.

In January 2024, Kensington Palace informed that Kate had undergone abdominal surgery. Later that year, she revealed that after post-operative tests, she was diagnosed with cancer. In January 2025, Kate confirmed that she was in remission.
Amid this, influencer @ZandiSussex reportedly claimed to her thousands of followers on social media platforms that the Princess of Wales' illness is a sham. She is also said to have repeated these claims, along with making other controversial statements about the royal family.
Kate Middleton Is "Fuming"
Now, according to a source who spoke to RadarOnline, "Kate is fuming this event is still going ahead after this revelation." The source noted that, while it is not directly Meghan's fault, Kate would have appreciated it if Meghan had either canceled the retreat or at least banned the conspiracy theorist from attending.
Another insider said that while the retreat itself is not a problem, the type of people who associate themselves with the event by claiming to be on the guest list is "unsettling."
@zandisussex claims she got a ticket to attend Meghan Markle's Australian retreat.
"But when someone who is associated, even loosely, with the event has a track record of promoting deeply offensive and baseless claims – particularly something as serious as questioning a cancer diagnosis – it changes how the entire project is perceived. It stops being just a wellness or branding exercise and starts to attract a very different kind of attention," the insider said.
While there is no suggestion or guarantee that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are aware of the attendees' false claims about Kate, the association has drawn criticism of the event’s vetting process.
Kate Middleton Has Reached a "Tipping Point"
Harry and Meghan's relationship with the monarchy has been strained ever since they stepped back from royal life and moved to Montecito, California, in 2020.
Earlier this month, the outlet quoted a royal source and reported that Kate Middleton has reached a "tipping point" following the Sussexes' continued public appearances, which many believe resemble royal visits. This includes visits to Jordan and Los Angeles, as well as their latest appearance in Australia.
The Princess of Wales reportedly believes that these appearances and charity visits are making reconciliation difficult. The source said that each new headline "seems to add another layer of strain" and that Kate believes that Markle makes "calculated" moves to "provoke a reaction."
"Kate feels she's reached a tipping point where staying quiet is no longer an option. For a long time, she's made a conscious effort to rise above the tension and act as a calming influence, but from where she stands, the situation isn't settling - it's intensifying," the royal source told the news outlet.
