Jon Stewart Spots a Striking Resemblance in Donald Trump’s AI ‘Christ’ Post, Mocks His ‘Doctor’ Defense
President Donald Trump sparked criticism on social media after sharing — and later deleting — an AI-generated image depicting himself as Jesus on Sunday, April 12. He later said the image showed him as a 'doctor.'
Meanwhile, Jon Stewart joked about seeing a familiar face in the blasphemous picture as he reacted to the president’s post. The comedian also slammed him for lying while defending the controversial post.
In the latest episode of The Daily Show, host and comedian Jon Stewart addressed the now-deleted post from Trump. He started by pointing out, “Wait, the guy in the bed,” further musing, “Can I just…?”
He then zoomed in on the face of the sick man lying on the bed and remained at a loss for words. Reflecting on the man’s face bearing striking similarities to his face, the host joked, “I know I don’t have the vigor and spunk of my MTV days, but I didn’t know we were here already. I didn’t realize my look had reached leper territory.”

Stewart continued with his remarks, highlighting other details in the post. “If you look at just the bottom there, it looks like there’s just a guy’s hand. Not mine, just some other guy’s hand. Seems to be taking advantage of my infirmity to touch my p----. I don’t know why.” adding that it was ‘freaking’ him out.
He then took shots at Trump while sarcastically expressing happiness about “Jesus Trump” bringing his “healing orb.” In addition, Stewart then talked about his “favorite thing” in the picture, noting that there were so many things only AI could do.

Stewart then joked about Trump making the picture as he quipped, “AI is like, ‘Look, I can give you the fireworks and the healing powers, and I can make you Jesus, but you weigh what you weigh.’”
Trump deleted the post following backlash. According to the BBC, when he was asked about the post depicting him as a Jesus-like figure, Trump insisted that it was him as a “doctor.” He remarked, “It’s supposed to be as a doctor making people better. And I do make people better. I make people a lot better.” The president also claimed that he deleted the picture because “people were confused.”

Reacting to his clarification, Stewart then explained that not everyone in the Catholic community took the post lightly, and Trump had to come up with this “incredibly plausible” cover story. He then continued with his rant, questioning, “That’s you as a doctor? Why don’t you own it, you big puss bag? Do you even care about lying to us anymore? Is it over? Has this relationship gone still?”

He sarcastically took note of the lies uttered by Trump in the past, including ‘Venezuela stole the 2020 election.’ Stewart then added, “And now the best you’ve got is: ‘Oh, it wasn’t Jesus. I’m a doctor.’ You need to find your happy place, and fast. We expect better lies, sir.”
On a concluding note, he urged Trump to address the Iran conflict directly rather than giving haywire statements about it.
