Marjorie Taylor Greene addresses the allegations against Eric Swalwell and Tony Gonzales.

Swalwell and Gonzales’ cases have drawn reactions not only the general public, but also from political figures.

Speaking with CNN's Kaitlan Collins, Greene said that behavior similar to the ones discussed in the cases of Swalwell and Gonzales may be more common than people think.

She hinted that the Congress is full of lawmakers exhibiting such tendencies, with the only difference being that they haven't been caught yet.

“Congress is no place for that type of behavior. But I have to tell you, it’s a lot more prevalent. I think there’s more members of Congress that are guilty of things similar to Congressman Swalwell and Congressman Gonzales, and we just haven’t seen them, basically, get caught,” Greene said.

Swalwell was accused of sexual assault by a former aide, with three additional women making similar allegations. They accused him of sending unwanted explicit messages and photos. Swalwell has, however, denied the claims.

Meanwhile, Gonzales is facing controversy surrounding his alleged affair with his now deceased district director, Regina Ann Santos-Aviles.

Text messages shared with media outlets appeared to show Gonzales asking her for sexual content from her, while Santos-Aviles reportedly warned him that he was going too far.

Eric Swalwell announces his decision to drop out of the California governor's race, in a post on X.

Following the accusations and calls for resignation among fellow Congressmen, Swalwell and Gonzales recently stepped away from their respective election races.

Swalwell dropped out of the California governor's race, where he had been considered a potential candidate to succeed Gov. Gavin Newsom, following the misconduct allegations.

Sharing a post on X, Swalwell wrote, “I am suspending my campaign for Governor. To my family, staff, friends, and supporters, I am deeply sorry for mistakes in judgment I've made in my past.”

He continued, "I will fight the serious, false allegations that have been made - but that's my fight, not a campaign's.”

Meanwhile, Gonzales also announced his decision not to seek reelection. Unlike Swalwell, the Republican admitted to having an affair with Santos-Aviles.

Gonzales shared his decision via a post on X. He wrote, “After deep reflection and with the support of my loving family, I have decided not to seek re-election.”
