Although Irina Shayk gets fully glammed when going to an event, her makeup routine is actually pretty simple. In fact, the model even revealed how you can go from day to night in just a few steps.
First, the 35-year-old applies Shani Darden Weightless Oil-Free Moisturizer. “I always love to take care of my skin, so it’s very important to find a perfect moisturizer,” she explains in the video for Vogue.
“My second favorite is the Mimi Luzon Eye Awake cream,” she says while applying it around her eyes.
Shayk then moves onto foundation — specifically, Pat McGrath Labs Sublime Perfection Foundation. “I like to mix stuff and I like to mix colors,” she says. “Now I am a little bit tan, so just mix the right colors. You do a little swimming pool for foundation. You go lightly over the area where you need.”
Later on, she adds in some highlighter. “You know, less is more for me,” she acknowledges. “I like to keep my skin very clean and just do like either eye or lip. I know how to apply makeup just learning through the shoots and stuff.”
Since Shayk went with a “natural look,” she applies eyeshadow with her finger, which she “finds so much easier” and can “control it more.”
“I also like to keep in my purse minimal products, that is why I like to use my fingers because I don’t have to worry about bringing brushes and this and this,” she explains.
“I love makeup, I think makeup you should wear. Makeup should not be wearing you,” she adds. “You have to go with what you like.”
Next up, the mom-of-one touches up her face with powder and spills some of her beauty secrets. “I grew up in very cold weather,” she says, referring to her Russian roots.
“When I wake up or travel, and feel a little swollen [with] bags under my eyes, I run to the fridge and I get an ice cube, and [glide it] all around my eye area, my chin, [and] all around my face,” she says, adding that she starts the day with a glass of water with lemon.
The brunette babe then shows off her lipstick, which she also applies to her cheeks to give herself “a little bit of color.” Shayk then let fans in on a little trick — using a toothbrush to brush up her eyebrows.
“If I go out at night, I love to use mascara,” she says. “You can curl your eyelashes, but I prefer not to. It’s a little more natural."
Shayk finishes the look with a darker shade of lipstick and some powder. Ta-da! "I hope you enjoy and try to [re-create] it and look fabulous and love yourself,” she concludes. “Mwah!”
