'He Rejects Bad News as Fake': Trump’s Aides Accused of Curating 'Edited Out' Iran War Intel to Flatter the President
President Donald Trump’s decision to wage a war against Iran has raised a lot of eyebrows.
From rising prices to the loss of manpower and resources, critics have argued that the Iran war contradicts Trump’s own “America First” agenda.
However, one of the major reasons behind the president being allegedly oblivious to the cons of the war might lie in his aides reportedly only choosing to show him a positive outcome of the conflict — which, according to critics, stands far away from the truth.
According to a report by Zeteo, close aides of the president might be purposely keeping him "clueless" about the aftermath of the war so that he talks only about the positive side during his media interactions and on his Truth Social posts.
'Trumpian Edits' on Iran War Intel?
Donald Trump speaks during a Cabinet meeting on the Iran war.
An anonymous insider revealed to the media outlet, “Trump wants good news, and he rejects bad news as fake. He’s getting what he is paying for.” The report also suggests that staff members under Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth have been under intense pressure to deliver data that match Trump’s constant flow of self-serving propaganda on the Iran war.
To sum this up, Trump’s aides might be strategically showing him the "positive" results and outcomes he wants to see.
On the other hand, he might be rejecting brutal but honest developments as “fake news” since they go against his agenda.
However, the reports provided to the president are reportedly not always aligned with reality.
“Two U.S. officials and another source familiar with the matter tell Zeteo that when staff have produced data and analyses seen as too gloomy to the American side, higher-ranking officials in Trump’s Department of Defense have told them they need to frontload and emphasize the good news” before the intelligence is finally delivered to the White House, the insider added.
Other sources have revealed to the media outlet that these “Trumpian edits,” especially curated to appease Trump’s liking, have altered "internal data and reports on Iranian military capabilities, damage to Iranian targets, remaining munitions and weapons on all sides of the war, and other key metrics used to measure military success or failure."
'What Good News?'

The insiders have hinted that fishing for "happy news" is becoming a mammoth task with each passing day.
“Within the Defense Department and elsewhere in the U.S. government, a common response to this among staff is: What good news?” one of the insiders noted.
The source recalled a sharp comparison made by a U.S. official about the situation on hand.
The official compared the act of aides pleasing Trump to "someone wanting to hear about a car they were buying, knowing that the car had a ton of documented problems, but then only wishing to receive descriptions only of how great and top-of-the-line the new tires are."
The insider also made a revelation stating that Pentagon officials have "edited out" the work of any analysts who have attempted to showcase the harsh reality to Trump.
“The three people say that when analysts and others have tried to soften their reports and intel while still retaining a portrait of how disastrously the war is going for the Trump-Vance administration, there have been multiple times where their work has been edited by Pentagon officials above them, before making its way to Secretary of Defense Hegseth and President Trump,” the source said.
