'He Is a Deity': Hasan Piker Blasts Trump, Claims Maga Voters Have Turned Into a 'Cult'

Hasan Piker's unfiltered commentary frequently lands him in the headlines, and the same happened when he recently said that President Donald Trump is "no longer a political figure, he is a deity."

Piker, a left-wing political commentator, has sparked a massive online debate with his latest take on Trump's alleged control over the Republican Party.

Speaking on his livestream, Piker argued that Trump has transcended traditional politics to become a religious figure for his supporters.

Piker said on his livestream, “Trump is G-d for MAGA, which is the entirety of the Republican party. He is no longer just a political figure. He is a deity. You have to look at current modern-day Republican voters as a cult. That’s it."

He went on to emphasize just how powerful this influence is, stating, "I genuinely think at this point if Donald Trump turns around and says that he's a communist, we could have a communist party in this country. That is the level of influence Donald Trump has over his base. Donald Trump could be like, 'I'm a communist, I love communism... Yes, the Republican Party is completely at the mercy of Donald Trump."

Piker, also known as "HasanAbi", is a 34-year-old Turkish-American political commentator and a very popular streaming star on Twitch. He started his career by working for The Young Turks, which was founded by his uncle, Cenk Uygur.

He then moved to livestreaming full-time. His livestreams are joined by tens of thousands of daily viewers. He breaks down news and policies for millennial and Gen-Z audiences.

Hasan is no stranger to controversies. He has often faced intense backlash for his remarks.

In 2019, he faced a temporary ban on Twitch after saying that "America deserved 9/11" during a discussion on U.S. foreign policy.

In early 2026, he caused an uproar after openly supporting shoplifting from big corporations and defended it as "micro-looting."

Months ago, he was criticized following a livestream where he lashed out at critics of his Middle East coverage, calling them "rabid ultra-Zionist p**s,” according to Grand Pinnacle Tribune.

Piker's latest comments regarding Trump sparked intense discussions on social media.
