‘Harry Feels a Line Has Been Crossed’: Meghan Markle’s ‘Obsession’ With Money Has Left Prince Harry ‘Shaken With Discontent’
While Meghan Markle is celebrating the financial achievements from her Australia visit with Prince Harry, the couple is reportedly facing marital issues. The ex-royals reportedly have contrasting views on financial earnings and on discussing finances. Prince Harry, on the other hand, reportedly considers her obsession with money to be exceedingly "gauche".
Meghan Markle's growing obsession with money has created "huge friction" with Prince Harry, who is reportedly "shaking with discontent". For their trip to Australia, which also included her girls' retreat, the couple conducted charitable activities along with business-related engagements that contributed to their earnings. Despite the trip being highly controversial, Meghan is very ‘proud’ of the money she made, as it comes after the couple faced months of financial strain.
Prince Harry, on the other hand, has a stark viewpoint from his wife on the matter of money. Brought up in royal customs, he learned not to talk about financial issues either in public or private. According to RadarOnline, insiders have suggested that Markle's growing obsession with cash and income sources has caused him great unease.
Insiders claim Meghan Markle has become "addicted" to hitting her high-stakes income goals.
'Harry feels a line has been crossed'
While the couple's trip was criticized heavily on social media, Prince Harry feels 'uneasy' and believes that a line has been crossed amid Meghan's 'obsession' with money, according to Reality Tea. A royal insider said, "Meghan is incredibly driven. She’s one of those people who gets a huge rush from hitting her goals; success is very addictive for her. Money has been a concern for her lately, so this cash infusion is a big win, and she’s proud of that."
Talking about Harry, they added, "But for Harry, that’s actually uncomfortable. He was taught never to speak about money. The fact that she’s talking numbers a lot rubs him the wrong way; he sees it as very gauche. He says he wishes she’d ease up on the constant money talk and enjoy what they already have. He worries she’s making herself so stressed about the future that she’s missing out on everything they have."
Does Meghan get 'defensive' when it comes to making her own money?
Both Meghan and Harry have had a stark upbringing and have led different lives. Harry, a royal, never had to hustle, and Meghan, on the other hand, did acting gigs to make a name for herself.
Meghan reportedly becomes "extremely defensive" when accused of being greedy.
While Prince Harry was not allowed to earn money, as his position as a senior royal granted him a substantial allowance, said to be around $2 million, Markle secured her first acting role at 21 in General Hospital and has been financially independent ever since. The insider reveals that Meghan feels ‘defensive’ about her desire to earn her own money without facing judgment from Harry or anyone else.
The insider revealed, "Meghan gets extremely defensive when she’s accused of being greedy or overly obsessed with making money, so the fact Harry’s giving her a hard time over it cuts a major nerve. She thinks it’s totally out of line. He was born into such tremendous wealth and privilege, never needing to worry about the bigger picture financially, let alone the stress of paying everyday bills."
"Of course, Harry is now co-carrying the weight of their expensive lifestyle with zero help from his family, but it doesn’t take away Meghan’s annoyance. She believes that Harry should be cheering their success from the rooftops and respecting her for what she brings to the table", the insider added.
